Mid Summer Boat Bash Invite from the Fountain World
 

For those of you that are interested, I am running a thread on the Fountain Forum called "Mid Summer's Peconic Boat Blast". It's a run to Claudio's where some boaters will come from the North (Sound) while others come from the South (Locks into Peconic). A clasic "North meets South". For the now past 1st annual Fun Run we had a few Superboats join in which made the whole thing better. Come over and join in!! The dates look like July 10th at this point....

Glad to hear it!! Go over to the Fountain thread and weigh in there... We need to find out who is going to be in the Northern or Southern Fleet. Thats the place to post!!! Welcome aboard!!!

is that a saturday? saturdays are tough for me, i already take 6 or 7 a season for racing, i was hoping for the rain date on the last fountain run,I am always up for a sunday run,

:( I would love to accomodate you but can't for these reasons. THe weekend selected falls in between the 4th of July and the 17th, which is the poker run in Atlantic City. The weekend of the 10th happens to be the Tall Ship weekend for Greenport. Some of those ships will be tied up at Claudio's. While beautiful to look at, they will take up a lot of dock space. Saturday is the less crowded day at Claudio's (think dock space) and Bill Claudio asked that we shoot for Saturday. Lastly, if we make the run for Sunday and it rains, the run will tank as most people can't make the following weekend... due to Atlantic City.

I would be most interested in another run in August and schedule that for a Sunday. Don't you guys do a Super Boat bash or something each year?? Can the Fountain guys come??

thanks for the consideration ,i am going to do my best to make this one, superbashes havnt been too successful, we need you guys to organize it! actually many more fountains out there!

I hope you do make it... There may be more Fountains, but this is the back yard of Superboat, Activator and Hustler to name a few. For LI, I am sure Fountain is the minority. I am organizing this run, but really Gary or Gferdon who set the last Fun Run in May, is the guy that got me going. I think that LI provides such boating talent nationaly, yet is seems that we do way too little for ourselves. We need to gather more frequently, but we need to continue to do it safely. Just last weekend an Activator running in a local run spun out and the driver ejected. I understand he is going to be ok, but in my mind the line was crossed somewhere. We need to spend time getting better at these things well and then really organize.... More on that later....

A good place for us all to meet is the state park in the inlet,just west of the bridge on the south side,most of the time its MT and plenty of room for us,a good starting point!! tripps
