Default What to repower a 30' SuperBoat with?

What would be a good combination to repower a 30' Superboat with?
ProMax 300x's, ProMax 225x's, or OptiMax 250x's. What are the costs of these outboards, and how fast will the boat run with each of them?

Thank You, Kirk

Go Outboard. (haha). I'm a MERC man. "A WOLF amongst sheep"... "Kill a Yommy for Mommy".....but man those 300 HPDI's are sweeeeeeetttt! Low rpm's, regular gas & extended warranty. I would consider them. JC has a 34 CC(ssshhhhhh) maybe one day it'll be Yamaha powered. P.S. ZZ: I know you can go from I/O to O/B, but how do you re-power an O/B with an I/O?...... Is that where Tripps and a sawzall come in?

Superbash,
I think you got us I/O guys there.
Not nearly as many I/O Superboats built before the mid 90s.
But now...
Has JC even built a Y2K with outboards?

The older 30's ran great with outboards and i/o's. If you have a full transom boat with brackets you can run either. The engine compartment is lagre enough for a big block with a tranny but you mite need to move the gas tank forward. I believe the tank in the outboard boat was further back. Cutting a hole for a bravo is easy then you need to make motor mounts. The new 496HO package works well and will run 70-75. Outboards twin 200's=70 250's=76 300's=82 300x's=88 .
