Question for the Long Island Boyz
 

Hey Guys,
I have a friend that is real hot for a 22' or 24' Progression. Personally I like the 27' but the $$.
I have been telling him 24' Superboat, but he says the boat is too small in the cockpit area. I can't say that he's wrong, his 20' does have more room than my 24'
Anyway, I know nothing about Progression other than they are high $$.
How does the wider beam 24' Progression handle the rough vs. a 24' Superboat?
Has anyone driven one?
Are the extra $$ worth it?

kevin at progression is a great guy and builds a nice boat.I believe with a life time hull warrenty.Big difference between 22 and 24.I myself like the 29.They have an open house every year and I always go.Call them direct,Im know he can find you a used boat if you want. I have a guy up the block who has a 27 with a 750 and runs 110.So I know the boats are fast. good luck

I think their construction techniques are a little more sophisticated than Superboat. Vacuum bagging and all composite construction. All that does not come cheap though.

There was a '27 that was doing pretty well in F-1 racing a few years ago.

How does that 27' handle the rough vs. your Superboat?
Have you ever been in a 24' Progression?

Went Against One On The Hot Toddy.i Did Have More Power And Was Alittle Faster.the Water Was Ruffff And I Think With The Extention Box And Narrow Beam I Cut Thru And Didnt Have To Throttle,where He Did,on And Off In And Out Of The Water.but I Bet In Calm Water He Would Have Beat Me And That Was A 27 With A 500. I Almost Bought That Blue 27 That Was Racing But My Pocket Wasnt Deep Enough Then.

being in te market for a 23-25 ft boat my self right now i will give a little input....the progressions are built very well...fit and finish is very high quality and like the others mentioned with a price tag...although i have seen used 24 superboats and progressions asking similar $$$ for similarly equipped boats..i have been for one ride in a 24 progression and will say this..power for power i do think it will be faster than a superboat but when the goin gets really rough the superboat will reign supreme...i have yet to ride in a step bottom superboat but i have been in a couple of straight bottom 24s and i am hoping to ride in superbashs boat soon ..i am starting to consider a superboat more and more ....hope this helps...by the way OH ZONE if you read this...when is a good time to call i would like some info on your boat....

There's a Progression 22 with a single Merc O/B that runs out of Branford Harbor. I've watched the guy go out in all sorts of crazy stuff. The boat flies perfectly level, lands smooth and hauls. I've seen the boat up close recently and it still looks mint. It's a sit down, so the cockpit isn't as deep as a Superboat 24. I'm not sure that even the 27 is much deeper, but I don't know.

Progressions are sweet. I will say that equal power the progressions lighter hull is def. faster. But a light layup SB will run just as well. "Jerrys" 24 Progression in SUPERBASHS VIDS runs rough chop comfortably.

Hey Pat..

Rich Owen from the screamandfly website found a motor hatch pad from the CT River Run. Would you know anything about that? :D
