Great to hear all is well Krak!
I help a friend service his boat and then we went for a ride yesterday too. It hit 70°F here in CT, not bad for Halloween... :drink: |

Hey Krak... Hey Pat...any day on the water is a good day.
-I spotted this 24 from the SB website(bottom pic) out cruising yesterday so I made a bee line for him. I was on it & he couldn't pull away from me with a reg. 300 to my 250! Can't wait still haven't gotten my X. Keep on SUPERBOATIN' ! -P.S. I was trimming my 24 way too much in chop. I was hating it. But now that I chilled with the trim & just "set" that tabs in the big stuff...she cuts the way a 24 is supposed to. [smiles] Later. -me & brother Dirk Pitt (with his 21 SB & new "X") at Tanner Park. |

Re: Don't hate me for smiling.......
Gettin' better all the time!!
Yesterday: Air temp 76 Four people Full tank No wind, bay flat 5000 rpm 72.4 mph gps ( merc speedo read 82!) Time to start thinking a performance prop - let's hear what 30Y2K folks are spinning, I have a stock 26 non-labbed bravo prop - what's out there doing better? Still finding best tab and trim settings, and loving the boat! |
Re: Don't hate me for smiling.......
Getting there. Now, I've heard of an ignition upgrade for the 496 HO. It raises the rpm and rev limiter of the motor. I read it in one of the threads here. It had a link to their website. Not sure if it was MSD. I'll look for you when I get a chance. What about a Whipple ?

Re: Don't hate me for smiling.......
Krakmeup, Okay, I Got It, But Krankmeup Sounds Good Too!!!you Know 72mph & More...damn Good For 496ho....gary

Re: Don't hate me for smiling.......
Yeah, I heard there was an upgrade on the ECM too, have to go looking.
Whipple/ProCharger? Probably, next winter after stock warranty is out. Until then, I will look for prop and ECM upgrades. To be honest, mid 70's is fine for typical running, but like I've read, my favorite tag line: "You can never have too mch horsepower, but you can USE too much horsepower". I love that, too true! |
Re: Don't hate me for smiling.......
Yup, thats what I was talking about. Aside from the ignition, it works with the puter too to give you a few hundred more RPM.

Re: Don't hate me for smiling.......
Hey Keith........I always did like those Mercury speedos. Mine says my 22' Mako does 72mph with a 235, my new GPS says 56mph. LOL

Re: Don't hate me for smiling.......
Hopefully in a few months I'll put together a 21 for myself for next season. I like the center console though. I was hoping to make a light one, around 800 to 900lb.
