Pat, i'm looking at that ad now. Direct bolt on, 900 hp rated, very nice. Will my external steering hook up to the drive ???

I believe the drive will bolt directly to your stock Merc HP transom assembly. Likely the plate on your drive for the steering would need to be transferred to the new drive, no big deal. The steering pistons will work for sure.
The Teague drive is sold with a 1-year warranty hooked to the 710HP Viper engine. I wonder what kind of warranty with 900HP?

Extension box if it does

Let's not make this more complicated than it needs to be.
Superbabi runs great as is. No extension box to add to the mix.
Let's just help Gary find a reliable Bravo type drive that will handle 800-900HP.
Teague may just have the drive up to the task...:cool-smiley-011:

There isnt one period. If you do decide to stay with a bravo type drive buy extras by your just going to blow them up. We've had teagues and blew them with only 750 horse. It's just an Xr so your steering should hook right up. No bravo type drive will last infront of that power. We blow them with only 525's. My suggestion is to have a spare so when one blows your not out of boating for too long.

Hmmm... We are at this again!:food-smiley-007:

Y2K Almost 80hrs 800HP stock Bravo XR so far.
American Offshore 150 hrs on 750hp stock Bravo XR until sold.

You gotta work the throttles! or spend the big bucks. I don't like Imco's. I don't think they are any better than XR's.
I would rather break two XR's than spend 30-40K on something that may break anyway! What drive has not broke?

Don't Jinx yourself...

Personally I have not ever broken a drive, not an Alpha, not a TRS, not a Bravo, and not a Volvo 280. But I never really hooked up an engine that is grossly over rated for the drive. There is a spare in my basement though.
I do know many stories of Bravos holding with big power and many that blow hooked to stock power.

For sure you have a better chace of a bravo lasting with big power if the boat is light and you throttle genteelly...

80 hours on a drive thats rated at a max of 600 hp, is pretty damn good and amazing. Most guys I know blow the xr's up with much less Hp than 800 hp. and yes they keep an extra drive or two in stock. What drive are you talking about thats 30-40k ???
