Re: Time for Prop info, 30Y2K

BAM's prop slip calc shows 14% slip @ 3500rpm, and 12% @ 5000rpm for your speeds.

When you are ready to test some props, you can try my 27 Hydro. Bill's getting some 26p Hydro P5X's that we can try too.

HEY KRAC,
hope all is well, your boat needs bow lift, reg hydros and all cleaver style dont work well, the new 5 blade round ears work the best , great mid and top with a strong hole shot , bravos come in second and alot cheaper, my numbers are, hydro 29p 5 blade round ear 5700 rpm 91 mph on gps, 31p bravo 4 blade 5600rpm 87 mph on gps the handling and turning ability on the 5 blade is much better and I think around 13% slip, my hp is approx 700 I highly recommend Julie and Matt from throttle up props in fla
regards
Jim

Hi Krakmeup,
It's great to hear that she is running so strong for you.
Darin at Houston Prop did a great job repairing and labbing two props for me last year.
Like Jcap said, tell him you need lots of bow lift.
I first tried having a prop labbed by local guys here in CT and I lost speed. Probably because the boat lost bow lift. After Houston prop fixed my props I gained 1-2mph and the boat will stand on the prop... :drink:

That rules my Hydromotive out, but Bill's are P5X round ear so maybe one of those will work. My Bravo is a 30P, I don't know that you could pull that one.

I think that speed is PHENOMENAL for an out of the box boat with stock power! :D

Re: Time for Prop info, 30Y2K

Thanks Jim - I agree!

Also thanks for getting the slip info - I need to spend some time with all this.

I'll look to purchase one prop (so I have a spare), so I'll start looking for the ideal prop based on everyone's input, so keep it coming. Thanks jcap and Pat also for the good info - I'll be checking with these folks in the weeks to come.

Since the fuel tank is now near empty, I've gotta go run her empty and unloaded to see what I can squeak out of her now, so maybe a quick run or two this weekend and I can post again.

Hey ZZ,
How are things? Did you ever find a good prop for your new setup?
Do you think you may have gone a little too high with your prop shaft?
