Yo Tripps,
The Saybrook Point Inn is in my back yard and Claudio's is less than 90min from my front door, so of course I'm in...
Hell, if you would like to make a weekend of it, we can do both... :drink: There are some great places to camp out on the river or some can camp in style at the Inn.
I am assuming you are talking about next Spring or Summer; it snowed 4" here last night...
The off season list is quite long but at least my engine was still running great when I put her to bed. It's the first year in three that I don't have to rebuild. I may have another to tinker with though... :D
We definitely need to have a SuperFountainBannanaDonziSutphenVelocity...FEST200 5!!!
Hey Dave M, You coming?

I like your setup Superbash. Do you have that anchored to your driveway?
We do have a 12'x24' cover it shed in the back yard I kept my Mustang in but now it is full of s**t...
Come on Dave, you've got 6 months to have her ready.
Drag her up here, my boyz and I will have her running again for you in a weekend.
We pulled the engine out of my friends Fountain Friday night...

Re: reuinon

Sorry tripps, I edited my post.
Mattituck sounds like a great launching spot for the South shore crew. It's 30 miles or so to the Ct River. Claudio's is about 20miles from the CT river.
Sounds like the making of an impromptu poker run... :evilb:
Hey Superbash, you in? I know you've figured out those tabs for the rough.

tripps 11-15-2004 06:19 PM

Re: reuinon

does impromtu mean lets do it??? pat,you made me happy, yeah,a pokerrun with 2 stops, that would fly, unless if someone knows of a spotfor card pic-ups,they should be easy to get to,then we need a card stuffer, just like frenz does, sealed envelopes and a big prize,a second and 3rd place,i would suggest a small course if possible tripps

Re: reuinon

A few questions:
When are we talking about - some dates please?
Are these Texans allowed back in CT? :)
Anybody got room for two riders?

Pat McPherson 11-16-2004 11:17 AM

Re: reuinon

Hey Krakmeup,
Maybe we can time it with your friend's boat delivery? I would bet he want it sooner though...
I would suggest any time after mid June; before that and the water in the Sound is too cold.
We'll let Grand Wizard Tripps and the south shore crew suggest the dates...
We'll have room for you if you can make the trip north.

Tripps, if we have enough boats why not draw cards...

If the trip is to the CT river on Saturday, we could have lunch at the Blue Oar in Haddam, then maybe a raft-up in Essex harbor and end with a little night time gathering at the Saybrook Point Inn... :D
I am more than happy to play tour guide on this side of the pond.
Then a Sunday run to Claudio's would top off quite a weekend of boating...

tripps 11-17-2004 08:01 PM

Re: reuinon

that all sounds good to me,but explain draw cards!we cant do it fathers day weekend cause thats the nyc pokerrun tripps

Pat McPherson 11-18-2004 06:45 AM

Re: reuinon

Hey tripps,
The poker runs I have been to, you draw 1 or 2 cards at each stop; right?
Then at the last stop and party, the best poker hand wins...
We could have 3 to 5 stops, with the poker hands revealed at the Saybrook point Inn Saturday night or at Claudio's on Sunday...
How about $50-$100 per poker hand with 1/2 the pot to the winner the other half to a charity.

tripps 11-18-2004 05:45 PM

Re: reuinon

pat, thatsoundsgood to me,igot a good charity to givethe other half, its called filthevelocitygastankfund :D :D :D youknow im only kidding! i think thats a great idea, ill go the hundred and buy a spare hand. tripps

Re: reuinon

Tripps,
We are 4-5 months away from boating again and the gears are spinning already.
I'm thinking if you guys are going to launch in Mattituck Saturday am, I should be able to meet you there and run the Sound with you.
I'll drive my boat down to Saybrook point Friday night and raft her up to my buddy TK's boat at Harbor One (the last marina in the river). This way I'll be less than an hour from where you will be launching.
Hey Superbash, Jcap, Zuper, What do you think?
Pick a date guys, my life gets planned for me way in advance these days...

Re: reuinon

Hey Pat...

If you think you could use a second "host" for this side, I'd be glad to help out. The owners of SPI are family friends. Maybe we (as a group) could arrange something with them? I really like the charity idea.

Where are we looking at for "stops"? I have another friend who works at Pilot's Point, in Westbrook, and I have waterfront access in Branford (30-40 min. from CT River, 2 bars and nicely sheltered).

How about a Cannonball Run format? Maybe one or two of the faster boats could carry the cards, get to the stops first, and give 'em out? Once we're all there ...hit it again, so we dont need others "posted" there.

Maybe SPI, Westbrook (for coffee and), Faulkner's Isl. (to check stuff), Mattituck (for lunch), and back to Essex (maybe the Gris?), and back to Old Saybrook (by a set time, incase people want to cruise the river, for awards). About 50 + miles around the sound? End up at the Hotel for a blow-out?

I'd love to help put it together. Be in touch.

Chris

Hey Chris,
Tripps is going to gather a group from the South Shore and launch at Mattituck Saturday morning and plans to spend the night at SPI.
If you have connections at SPI we should definitely plan to end up there by days end.
I have been to a number of parties at SPI including one of my sisters wedding.
You can't ask for a better spot...

Hey Grand Wizard Tripps,
Happy New Year!
We only have about 4 months until boating season; is it time to set a date? :drink:
