Y2k/2
Does any body think there would be a market for a Y2K in the 24 foot version.26 if you count the platform.

Re: Y2k/2
Well if sales on the 30' jumped up dramatically after changing the deck, I would say yes.
Sunsation changed their old 24 to what they now call a 25 and it has the integrated platform. How many 24' Supers have been build recently? JMKs is a 2002, Superbash has a new one; any others? Seems like all new 30s being built these days... FX10, comments? |
Re: Y2k/2
Superbashes was the last 24 built. We almost had a ordser for another one, but someone sold him their used one. I was looking forward to building one.

Re: Y2k/2
I think there would be a good market for it. The 24 is a tad small and the 30 is sometimes tough for trailering. Imagine a 26' with a 496ho!! Sign me up!!

Re: Y2k/2
Keep the bottom and change the deck like john did on the 30.Run a special like on the y2k and when you get to johns shop the line will be like being at motor vehicle.John will have to hire me to give out numbers at the door.To finish the package it needs a 5 blade prop and a nice aluminum trailer.

Re: Y2k/2
Just think to make it even more attractive lets take the mercury overpriced 496 out of the picture and get a local engine builder, lets pick a name out of the air, like MCBETTS RACING to assemble something better and cheaper and still have a warrenty!!!!HOw about a nice procharged aluminam head 454 small block.

Re: Y2k/2
what you doin up so early??? :D :D :D tripps

Re: Y2k/2
Hey ZZ,
I like your ideas, but a procharged 454 small block would probably cost a bit more than a 496HO. How about a marinized version of the GM Performance parts 425HP/ZZ383 small block? I must say that parts for building up a small block chevy costs about half what big block parts cost... I have kicked myself a couple of times when I powered my 24' with a 310/7.4L rather than a 300HP/350 or 320HP/6.2L. We have big block parts now though, and I don't think the 502 will disappoint in 2005... :D |
Re: Y2k/2
FX10, Do you think that John would have interest in a change to the 24 to make it a 26 ala the Y2K? Talk to him and plant the seed!!

Re: Y2k/2
Funny you mention this. I've had that idea rattling around in my head. A 24 with a 30 style quarter canopy deck. I say hell year!
|
Re: Y2k/2
Lets compare this idea to the one Bill Gates had when he said every household will have a computer.Everyone laughed.I dont know about you but I have 2.Also this question is for RICK,I know there is a length to weight ratio in the F1 class and the Zuperboats have to weigh more then the Activators so lets make the length just under to get a good weight if thats possible.Im sorry I ment to say SUPERBOATS.

Re: Y2k/2
I don't think Johns changing the 24 anytime soon. We have our hands pretty full at the moment with boat orders and making the 34'center console.
|
Re: Y2k/2
Fx10 If you have any pull why dont you have john change the 21 back to how they were years ago using the old deck

Re: Y2k/2
After all the money John put into the tooling for the new deck, I highly doubt that he's going to make the old one again. That would be like asking Chevy to make you a 1999 Monty Carlo. We still have the old deck mold though. It's in sad shape.

Re: Y2k/2
yea but which deck would you Rather have ?
