34' Sutphen in classifieds
Can anyone give any info on this boat. Not ever owning a Sutphen boat I don't Know much about them such as, handling rough water, speeds, overall construction. Thanks Jeff

great rough water boat , they will go through anything you throw at it...they handle like they are on rails.. awsome boat

Chip at CMC used to have a 34' with BIG power.. boat ran close to 100...
It now has 500's and Bravos and eats up LOTO still to this day... :drink: |

Will it handle rough water as good or better than a 35'/38' Fountain? Any disadvantages being an ex. race boat? Thanks,Jeff

Much better than a 35/38 Fountain. Smashes the waves. I have an old race Sutphen and love it. I didn't know the on in the classifieds was raced?

LS, She is an '82 model Original color were white and red, now all white. I couldn't ask for a more solid boat (except for my not so solid mechanical abilities. :D ) Here's a pic of her now..... I've been trying to dig up some info on her for some time now. I'm sure your all sick of my posts by now....sorry.

I've seen pictures of it when it was for sale a few years ago. Sorry I don't know any history on it. I had a 1978 & a 1979 30 Pacer & currently own a 1988 31 Spirit. They are great boats, the quality is second to none.

If you want to take a ride to Pompano Beach I would be happy to take you out in my 31' Sutphen race boat. 1 ride & you'll be sold on them. I know you have had a few Cigs but these are different. As far as being an X race boat, it all depends on which one you buy and the history of it. Over the years I have had 3- Sutphens all race boats, & they were all just great triple bolster wave bangers with an unbelievable ride in the rough. Rosebud racing on the board has one that I used to own 25 years ago. It's still going strong, and I raced it often back in the day! Ask him what he thinks of his boat and you'll probably hear the same thing. LS |

I like them a lot. I haven't quite mastered reverse around the docks but that has a lot to do with the props turning inwards. Nice roosters too!!!!!! :D |
