Need some Sutphen advice

O.K. guys.......unfortunately I am at a point where I have to sell her. NOT GOOD!!!!! :(

I need some honest opinions of what I should ask for her.

She is in the Sutpen section of the classifieds. A 1982 Ocean Pacer with everything redone......I mean everything. Small blocks with beefed up hp, arneson-6's, new gauges and throttles, rebuilt trannies, trailer was just completely redone. NICE.

THANKS

Bummer. Did you see what SinkOrSwim got for his? I'll PM you what I think it may be worth.

I think you may be a bit high, but that shouldn't mean a buyer should bid whatever he wants.
What were you asking when it was for sale in the spring?

The same as I was asking in the spring 35000, but I'm considering any offer. I was under the false impression of keeping her so I sank more money in it. I totally redid the trailer (sandblast, paint, bearing, brakes......total facelift). I also had a custom full cover made and I'm in the process of having my upolsterer finishing out a little cabin down below. She has also got new trim pumps for both drives with the heavy duty race brakets on them. Whoever buys her is going to have to give me first right of refusal when they sell it. :(

Good Luck with the sale....

There are fans of Sutphens and "future fans" of Sutphens.. (Those who have not had the pleasure of driving one yet.... :evilb: )

Mine was completely stock,,, two bolsters and a bench...

I dig your boat... someone will get a fine ride.

Keep it where its at... let them call and chat, tell them to make an offer.
You can always refuse it, but there has to be a negotiation starting point.

I asked higher than where you now, and took less than you're asking.
If its a clean boat, you should get decent $ for it.
Take tons of pictures, and offer to take more to serious inquiries if they want to see detailed shots. Digicam and email makes things easy today.

Best luck to you.

Re: Need some Sutphen advice

I am the guy who bought Sinkorswim`s Sutphen. I am enjoying it very much --- great boat !
I wasn`t even looking for another boat. I certainly wasn`t shopping for a Sutphen either.
I stumbled across his post on Speedwake.com about selling his boat. The more I looked at the boat and read the ad, the more I wanted the boat. I did a search on the net for Sutphens and looked at several ads. I went to Sutphen`s website and learned of the history and looked at the current models. I was hooked on Sutphens at this point.
Needless to say, I drove 7 hours, bought the boat and haven`t regretted a minute of it. I am now officially a Sutphen fanatic.

My advice is, list your boat EVERYWHERE. Talk it up, tell everyone that you have a boat for sale.
I probably wouldn`t have bought my boat had I not stumbled across it on another site.

Mike may not want everyone to know how much he sold his boat for, so I`ll just say this: He was asking $27,900 and I got it for a little less than that.

HP, you got a great boat at a great price.
I had my eye on it for some time.
