What prop should I be running ?
 

30' Sutphen Ocean Pacer. Stock Merc 420`s with TRS drives.
I`m currently running 26p Bravo 4 blades, that`s what the boat had on it when I bought it. Mike told me the boat was a little overpropped and I agree. I can`t spin the engines more than 4200 rpm. I`m seeing 65 mph GPS.
What are most guys running on their Sutphens ? 3 blades ? 4 blades ?

Does a 26" pitch sound like too much for a 420hp Merc ?

It planes well and has decent mid-range....

Since nobody obviously runs props on their Sutphen, what kind of jet drive do you guys have ?

We have the same boat and are running 23 mirage three blades, Boat used to get out OK but with the new 468 roller motors we have a hard time getting on plane with it. we are looking to buy some 4 blades now.
Let us know if those are for sale??

I was advised by TU to try a pair of 23 Mirages. If I knew they would satisfy me, I`d swap these 26p 4-blades.
