260 Sutphen Brochure
2 Attachment(s)
Got this brochure at Stonington CT back in the mid-80's...:D
Can't work this POS Dell scanner, so I took some pics and edited... |
Re: 260 Sutphen Brochure
What stepped bottom boats were they referring to in the 1980's, Hustler's???
|
Re: 260 Sutphen Brochure
I believe that piece came out in 88 or so. I have a piece of lit from 86 and it shows a red 26 on top without the "pads, steps" etc. They must have been refering to Hustler with the steps. But also some V's incorporated the step in the keel towards the rear.

Dave did you buy your rum runner up here in CT or in California?
|
Bought my 1972 Gran Sport 18 in CT, then the Rum Runner a year ago from AZ. AZ boats is clean!! Good to have you on board. D911
|
I have seen your boat. Very nice!!
If it looks as good as it does in the pics its a sweet ride. I am actually looking to buy a Rum runner or a Ocean pacer but I would need to sell my 20 sutphen and the economy for new home construction is kind of soft so I may hold off for a while. |

I go to Piccolo Arancio alot too on rt 4 in farmington. I think I saw your RR on the river 2 weeks ago at the little island near essex. I was on a 32 fountain. I thought it was deans boat from farmington. Is your boat an out board set up? |
I live right near ethel walker school.
Sounds like we were all in the same area. The valley is good place to be. Boring but good. Theres another 20 ft sutphen down the rd in canton too. |

I got hooked on Sutphens staring at a guys boat in Bloomfield when I was a kid...I think their last name was Jarvis? Maybe the kids name was Clayton. They had a wicked Nascar all stripped down and street legal. Like 600hp in a sleeper. My kind of people! BTW- I used to work at Mitchell Saab, just down the street from your house. |
I know the boat I think it was mext to the milk business up there just over the mountain. I heard that boat burned to the ground when the buildong went up.
I have a 875 HP 69 firebird. I street drive it around simsbury sometimes. Thats why I only habe a 20 sutphen. The drag car sucks up money like a sponge. So cal is great though. I used to go out to glamis all the time. And my buddy owns recreation unlimited it used to be on Kuttela AVE. He rents ATVs, Dirt bikes etc. I think its closer to huntington now if I remember correctly. I always had a great time out there. |
how's this for weird...i used to live off of Balboa av, about two blocks from the water...worked in solana beach for the Chart House..:drink:
my boat's like dave's..small blocks and i/o's...but i haven't been to the ct river since october:( oh yeah, and i used to own a 70 firebird... |
Thats weird stuff for sure!
I guess all great minds think a like. I'd like to see your boat one of these days. I couldn't seem to PM you on here. I have been wanting to get down to the thimble islands one of these days too. I think thats near you isn't it? |
yep, the thimbles are just around the corner from the state ramp in branford..it's a fun place, not spectacular, but cool...and the river that the ramp's on has 2 decent restaurants on it...if you're down this way, drop a line...

I have wanted to take my wife and kid out there I haven't been there since I was a little kid.
We took my fathers old 73 nova out there. I remember them having a floating restaraunt or something out there. It was like pontoon boat I think. Email me your # if you want [email protected] |
