This entry level 21 has a 350MAG..we're hoping for low 70's high 60's..just have to test a few props. In a few weeks we'll have a more blingy boat with a 496HO. Hoping we'll hit low 80's. Rich Jr. has made some significant changes to this model. The race fairing is completely part of the mold, which means a one piece deck. No screws and caulk here. Also, increased the cockpit depth by 2 1/2 inches. Seats have a fiberglass base and PPI did a great job working around them. Adds more room to the cockpit, with stronger seats. We're hoping for some nice running shots this weekend. Morgan picked ACE trailers.. added spare tire, dual brakes, etc.. We think it's a real nice setup. We have a future 277 model being worked on now, along with a 31. We feel these 3 model sizes put us in the right market considering the economic climate. Ultimately we are shooting for center consoles and open bow/mid cabin's in each size. Of course the 21 won't have a mid-cabin. Rich is making some considerable changes to the 277 and 31 which will enhance the performance and increase stability while giving that big boat ride when you need it most. Thanks for the kudos!! "open bow/mid cabin's in each size. " ??? :food-smiley-007:
That'd be like Porsche making an SUV...:evilb: |
Oh boy! I knew this was gona get some of the Sutphen die hards like myself going nuts. The fact is that some people are missing out on a great boat because in the past Sutphen didn't offer the novice what they wanted and the cheap boat companies gained market share as a result. Sutphen will still be quality for all, the models we're interested in will be there for us and for the company they will get stronger which is good for all of us. None of us want to see Sutphen go away which it seemed was happening. Oh by the way Porsche dose make SUVs. The bottom line is make what the public will buy and turn a profit, its called capitalism.

Ron that extra 2.5 inchs of depth is gonna make big difference. One thing I didn't like so much about the 20 was the depth of the floor to windshield. Way to low.I like stand up boat anyway though.
I even find the 26 to be a little low. Te 30 was just right IMHO. We had a 21 nova years ago and that boat was nice and deep and you felt very safe in the bigger water with it. Looks like an awsome boat. Any Idea on MSRP for the new models? |
