I saw some of the new small Sutphens...
some of those guys came to our Donzi event. I really liked the 21 with the 496. It was a well turned out small boat with great lines. This boat had sort of a Shelby paint job. I did not have time to get a ride but if they run as good as they look, you guys will have a ringer. That little 21 had a front deck that looked like a 28. I actually asked the driver if it was a 24.

Oh it runs as good as it looks!!! There's pics through other threads. Forgot they were going down there. Hope they got to show everyone the quality of the Sutphen!

Pictures show a bottom that looks pretty well aired-out and the GPS numbers support that. This 21 is a different animal with a better ride attitude than the old 20.
I was saying they ran great! The pics were from my boat. I know how fast they are! Its just they were running a 100mph cigarette in those pics ;) I think the Blue one with a 496 ho was around 83-85mph The white one with a 350mag(300hp)was in the 72 ish range. Both boats speeds are fantastic! |
Damn that is a gorgeous boat.. and some damn good mph out of a 496.... BIG ?? WHAT IS THE PRICE TAG?? What is up with that Tsunami??? I have seen that boat here in the Chesapeake(MD) many times, then see it in all kinds of pics same boat??

Sutphen 21 SSX
ITLLFLI,
It was great to meet you and all the AOTH Donzi and Cig guys. I'm glad that I took Doctor Dan up on his invite and brought a couple of our new 21's out to Kentucky to play. Thanks for making all of us feel welcome to your Kentucky run. Fenderjack, Rich Sutphen jr. ran the Blue SSX up to Lee's Ford on friday playing leap frog with the Zul 750 Cig and Byrons 540 ci 22 Donzi. The Boat has a stock 496 HO and a stock Mirage prop, he was running with a full tank of fuel, wife and three kids. This redesigned hull really works well and is showing some good numbers on GPS. I ran our 350 mag boat and had a great run with a few 22's on Saturday after the wind and rain blew our raft up apart. If you guys have any questions just fire away. We currently have both boats on our lot for sale and ready to run this summer. The boats are just absolutely amazing at how they handle the rough and run with stock power! The Sutphen boyz are really on to something great once again!!
