Well, it took 30 years or so, but I finally had a ride in a fast Sutphen...or two.

My thanks to both Ernie and the BOXER and the Team Tsunami Klietz guys for letting me ride along during the poker run up here in Rhode Island.

Back in '82 they were trying to fill out a class in the World Championships and Stan Fitts tried to talk me into driving a Sutphen that was owned by the Newport is Sports guys. Boat had mechanical problems, so I never made it.

Had many other rides alongside them when they were first introduced....INFERNO, GREAT ADVENTURE, CALIENTE....ETC ETC. They were always fast and that extra 2 degrees of vee made them great in rough water.

Kidded Richie over the years about the extra 2 degrees....but after riding in a couple, I can see how great it really is. Congrats, you old goat.

Hey Richie, maybe you should set Charlie up with a ride in the boat that singlehandedly put a end to p2 because none of the competition could beat it. good luck next weekend Walt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any time Charlie!! I got to run our boat all day Saturday and then Shaun's 33 Outrageous all day today!! What a great weekend of Sutphen running!!
