New style 30' with single I/O where is it?

Hey guys how many 30' Sutphen's with the new style deck have been made? What happen to the one that was for sale a while ago it was a single I/O I think it was in Massachusetts. Is it still for sale?

Thanks Kirk

That red boat is SICK. I love red sutphens, we had 4 red 30 ft sutphens here in CT at one point. They were all gorgeous on the water. the red really pops!

It will show oxidation though pretty easy. needs to be cleaned allot more but when its clean its one bad looking motha!

I saw ernies 31 in person and its 1000 Times more impressive than in pics.

If I only had that kind of cash I have one by now.

Of course it would be OB for sure.LOL

Gladhe8er 08-25-2010 04:15 PM

I have seen Ernie's(BOXER) boat up close and run alongside it. One of the coolest boats out there IMO.

I would love to see this boat with twins. It's one of my favorite Sutphens.

30ctsutphen 08-25-2010 08:42 PM

Gald and C you guys up for a run this weekend in the CPBA forum?

Id like to get a little run somehwere going.

30ctsutphen 08-25-2010 08:44 PM

The new deck / lines are really great looking. I cant name another better looking 30. Way to go sutphen i hope you sell many! It looks like Sutphen made other changes as well, Ernie looks like hes really in the boat (lots of freeboard) unless hes sitting.

Best

30ctsutphen 08-26-2010 10:34 AM

It does look like more freeboard. Sutphen always needed that IMO.

They were good the way they were but would have been better with more.

Question was always would it effect the stability of the boat.

Look how many cig videos of rollover are on line. I have only seen one sutphen rollover video and it was a jump rollover. have seen lot s of Cig rollovers on flat water. Like the one in russia

Ernie's cockpit is deeper than the rest...

That was due to morons that dont know how to run a boat. It can happen to any boat with an idiot behind the wheel. Its just harder to do in a Sutphen!:D I have been in Ernies boat and it runs awesome!! The deeper cockpit is really nice to have. You can stand or sit comfortably. Ernie and Peter did great in their first race back with the 26. I bet they'll get the checkered flag next time out cause that 26 runs awesome!

TOASTY 08-26-2010 09:21 PM

do you know what the floor and stringer demensions are in that hull? any photos?

Not sure. You'd have to call Richie. Ernie has a bunch a pictures (non digital) that he took when his was being built.

30ctsutphen 08-26-2010 09:47 PM

So all the new ones are deeper or is ernies a one off that way?

The three 31's are all like that.

30ctsutphen 08-26-2010 11:09 PM

Thanks dan/Ken which ever one is posting right now.LOL

How the hell do I tell whos posting with you guys?

TOASTY 08-28-2010 07:15 AM

i spoke to rich a while ago. i know they are doing it different and have notes. its only a 3-4" change but its worth it. Its always good to learn more.

Scan those pics and post them if hell let you

30ctsutphen 08-28-2010 08:33 AM

That 3 or 4 inches makes a HUGE difference IMO

At least thats what all the women tell me.

Oh thats not what you guys were talking about?LOL

No seriously I do think the deeper FEEL alone makes a difference when out in the rough water.

dba900 08-29-2010 07:22 AM

Are the hull sides higher or did they drop the floor?

TOASTY 08-29-2010 07:06 PM

i believe the hull sides are the same, but not positive on this.

Boxer 08-29-2010 08:32 PM

I BELIEVE THE HULL SIDES ARE THE SAME. I AM NOT TO SURE IF THE FLOOR HEIGHT HAS BEEN LOWERED. THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE IS THE WINDSCREEN HEIGHT IS CARRIED ALL THE WAY TO THE TRANSOM. YOU REALLY FEEL THAT YOU ARE DOWN IN THE COCKPIT VERSES THE FEELING OF SITTING ON A BARSTOOL.

PETE AND I FINISHED 50 FT BEHIND WASSUP. THEY BROKE OUT TWICE AND WE BROKE OUT FIVE TIMES. WE ARE CHANGING THE SPEEDOMETER FROM ANALOG TO DIGITAL SO WE CAN MANAGE OUR SPEED BETTER. WE WERE PENALIZED ONE SPOT FROM SECOND TO THIRD. ATLANTIC CITY SHOULD BE A ROUGH WATER RACE, WHICH THE 26 LIKES.

WE PUT AN IMCO , 2 INCHES SHORTIE, WITH 1 INCH SPACER. DIALED IN 11.8 TO 12 AF RATIO. THE IMCO LOWER GRABS MORE WATER DOUBLING THE DRIVE TRIM. THE BOTTOM LINE, 5 MORE MPH.
