Thanks To All...It's Official!
I'd like to thank those who tried to help with positive statements
in helping me moving "Night Moves" along to it's new owner... especially "30", "sick", "air" and "oc". I ended up making a deal with the broker this past week which enabled me to buy Jeff's old Super Pacer. I am so excited to get this boat finally and get it ready for the lake in Maine for next summer. Also it's great to be with the same Sutphen gang that recognize that these boats are really something special! To me the quality and strength of these great boats do set them apart from the rest. Hey...who knows...I may even end up on the Ct. River next year and then you young guns can show an OLD MAN how to have some fun! Thanks again guys. |
Thats great news George I hadnt heard from Brian today but I guess your all picked up and on your way. If you have any questions about my old ride let me know.
Its been a while since she was mine but I dont think shes seen any use and hopefully no abuse in the process. It was a great boat when I had it and I TORE up the CT river with it. It was like a jetski on steroids! The 350 in it was built by Larry liefert of torrington ( built paul newmans engines and does allot of road race Gt1 stuff) and although its not a real high performance build the proper machining etc was employed so it should be a real nice solid engine for you. only had about 10 or 15 hrs on it when I sold it 4 or 5 years ago. The drive is a volvo 290 with power trim usually found on larger boats and very durable rotation can be changed in minutes which makes finding props much easier. The prop on its isnt enough prop for ot and there should be one inside the boat that will run faster. The boat was owned originally in Wallingford CT and was built for someone who competition ski'd and thats why it had left hand drive. Very unique boat. Jimmy goodrich will probably know more on that it was an offshore speed and ski boat. God luck with it. |
Congrats , sounds like a real nice super pacer !
|
Enjoy the new ride
|
congrats see you tuesday at the auction:coolcowboy:
|
Thanks guys! I got the boat off a borrowed trailer and have it
my garage. At least it's out of the weather and I'll be able to do all the work indoors. Very happy to get this one! At least now I'll be able to teach the kids how to water ski behind a Sutphen...WOW Loud & Fast! In the early 60's, I competition skied in Maine growing up...it will be great doing it all over again with them. Summer can't come soon enough. |
I am so happy someone got it thats gonna LOVE that boat. It was good boat and the last 2 owners did nothing for it.
You'll enjoy it I am sure. Post some pics as you go with it. |
Congratulations! :drink: I'm looking forward to seeing some photos. I'd love to pick up an OB Super Pacer some day. It would be a nice companion for my father's Ocean Pacer.
|
Thheres an OB super pacer for sale here in CT there was athread on it here in the sutphen forums a few weeks back.
It can be yours for $7500 if I remember correctly. |

30 you talking about the blue one. If so its Mike 99 i believe here on the board
Old nice to hear you moved it. Tried each and everyway to get the word out about it to get it to a new home great news bud. Hey when do i get to see it! I was going to check it out and possably grab it but bough the formula first. If I can help in anyway just shout. -Mike |
Thanks alot Mike. Let me get it cleaned up a little before you
come over. I'm redoing the engine hatch right now...all new spacers to get it away from the risers...threw the pushin cushin in the dumpster where it belonged, at 60 and happily married it's not a real necessity! It's going to look alot better without it anyways. Don't forget the Miller High Life when you come over! I'll keep in touch. |
Update pics soon! Please.
I am so happy your working on that boat and getting it cleaned up, its gonna be allot of fun. I want a ride when its done. funny story about that boat. I went to see it in wallingford and it had a dog tied to the trailer. I couldnt get anywhere near it. so the next day the guy calls me and says sorry its sold. Nuff said I forget about it. 2 years later My brother and I are out on the 30 and I say man if I had found that boat I could have made a little clone out of it so I went home looked on flea bay and there it was. I called the guy and went up to scenectady to look at it bought it on the spot. My buddy brian calls me and says man I was going to buy this bad ass little sutphen but some AZZhole bought it out from under me.LOL I build a new engine use it for a while and trade for my 26 with it. who buys it from that owner. You guessed it my buddy Brian and thats who you bought it from. |
Can't really get any pics in the garage. Just finished the new blocking under the hatch. I used AZEK trim around the edges w/
tee nuts on the underside and stainless bolts & bezels. Looks awesome! It's moisture resistant and white in color. Just have to paint and stripe the top. Going to use a 2 1/4" flame arrestor to help with the clearance. Try to get those reg's for me Ok! Have fun tomorrow on the river...wish I was ready! |
Crap I was at the boat today and didnt even look for the reg bag.
Damn, I wish I saw this yesterday. |
That's Ok Jeff...next time down will be fine. I forgot to tell you
that 3 weeks ago I was in OS on business and stopped at OP to look around and saw your new boat. That is one heck of a nice boat. That transom bracket looks like you can really dial the ride to any condition. Wish you the best with it. Bet your family likes it as well! |
George I took a little time to dig around and I found that paperwork for you.
|
Sutphen
