Hope to be in the sutphen family soon, I just put a deposit on the black, orange and grey single engine 26 rum runner, on lake Muskoka in Canada.

Talked to Christine Sutphen, about this boat. She Remembered this boat was used as the display boat, by murdon marine, In the 1985 Toronto boat show.

Ahh I was away in FL last week and hadnt known it sold. I was keeping an eye on that one for a possible twin turbo set up with fuel injection. That could have been one nasty little ride.

still can just not mine:(

nice! that looks my my boat on the right, but it doesnt have the docking lights. Chris told me my boat was one of the last to leave to head north to CT. it was unrigged. maybe they installed the lights up there. Mine is an 86, and was sent to offshore speed and ski after the originals owners sold the dealership to someone else.

The white boat is a 20.

DonziChris 02-22-2011 04:14 PM

Hey Phil, I thought that was a 20 as there are no deck hatches, and just looks smaller.

chris I was away when you contacted me last week. Good luck with the new boat. I bought back my 26 BOXER. With a 525 merc it ran 80. I have the 509 blower motor that i raced with ready to go. It is good to have it back. If you have any questions regarding setups with your 26, call me at 401-261-6225.

Not that I doubt the masters but what makes you so sure its a 20?

It looks like its just on a wierd angle and not chocked up as high to me.

could certainly be a 20 still though.

floatingphil 03-08-2011 01:11 PM

Both of those boats were sold new by Murdon to the same owner and lived for many years side by side in the same boathouse. I'm pretty sure the white one was about six feet shorter than the grey one. It's a nice boat with tan interior and a 350/Alpha.:drink:

30ctsutphen 03-08-2011 03:56 PM

Oh OK so you know the boats. I thought youn were going by something you saw in the photo.

Its certainly does look like sixs boat though doesnt it?

Damn that's a cool boat. Let me know when you get ready to sell. It would be a perfect boat for our lake and I always wanted a single to play with. Good luck with it.

Wade,

First time in water since taking delivery.

OL40SVX 05-19-2011 05:48 PM

Looks great Chris!! I would of loved to have gotten her. Love that black bottom.

floatingphil 05-19-2011 06:26 PM

Good to see that you got her home. Enjoy it! If you are looking for a name, she was originally called Marilyn.

DonziChris 05-19-2011 06:36 PM

Thanks for the positive responses. Sorry about the cockpit cover in the pictures. Rain was in the forecast. Has been raining here in Michigan pretty much non stop all week.

DonziChris 05-19-2011 06:58 PM

Phil, I will probably will not be putting a name on the boat. I really like the look of the clean black transom.

If I were to but a name on. I thought Trick or Treat would be a good one.

Thats what I would have named it too if I bought that boat!

Its a unique color scheme, but its good to be different. Now all it needs is twin turbos and a gen 7 DFI!:evilb:

fobes 05-20-2011 03:54 AM

Chris-
Nice clean ride- good luck.
