My 1987 33! Actually I think Ritchie said something a kaama boat that ran close to 115 mph! Now Paul Revells outrageous has the capability to be over 100 plus.

Don't forget Brian's 33.....( letterip)
With 598s once that things dialed it won't exactly be a slouch either!

Sounds like it will be a very happy ending! I don't think I will be able to out run him any more ! I guess I need to find more horse power! No dan I can't afford an Outerlimits even though I would love to.:lolhit:

bwd 12-12-2012 07:06 PM

All turds! lol Just kidding guys.

Nickotine 12-12-2012 07:37 PM

I saw Letterip twice, at the Borden run in 2011 and then once with Ernie as we were on our way to Newport, they were flying by us headed the other way. Both boats sounded amazing...:eekdrop:

Nickotine 12-12-2012 07:56 PM

I'm feeling 700-750hp a side to reach about 100mph...anyone else?

I'CE 12-13-2012 11:51 AM

a bit more HP to do tripple digits say 850-9+ :santa: - ps: does yr uncle want to go 100 ?

shaun harrington 12-13-2012 12:32 PM

And who do you think reminded him of that?? I believe it runs in the mid-teens. Big pair of blower motors.

I'CE 12-14-2012 07:59 PM

OH ? is it better to spin a smaller pitch prop faster or a higher pitch prop slower all else being equal, except for gear ratio. same rpm and HP vs gear change and prop pitch ? Dan ? any help !

How much of a speed difference is there between the 30s and the 33s? The 33 is definitely a much better layout.

Nickotine 12-17-2012 07:38 PM

I don't know about the speed differences...but my question (not to hijack my own thread) is the ride quality/speed gain of a 33' with ASD 6s (bravo conversation). Anyone have any experience with that or know of anyone? I know theres a kaama ocean pacer with a pair of big blower motors. Read that it rides like a dream. Heres a video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eZ4OIkKyrY

I would like to hear the story, post away. I have some ideas, no facts.

bwd 12-18-2012 09:24 PM

Yes Shaun, tell a story. I love a good story. B

I'CE 12-18-2012 10:06 PM

alot of big buildings in the video for cape cod. seems urban, but the thread is focused on the fastest 33 who has it?

242LS 12-18-2012 10:20 PM

Ya, that video doesn't look like the Cape - but Shaun may have meant that the boat was from the Cape, not the video.

Shaun, tell us a good story - c'mon.... It's winter, what better time?

I'CE 12-18-2012 10:21 PM

33 Will lay down flatter and not have a porpoise like a 30 thats why the 33 LIKES surface drive it Just likes IT ASK Ritchie, the weight to length to dead rise combination is as close to perfect as U can get with an older strigt bottom SUTPHEN add Power AND

I'CE 12-18-2012 10:53 PM

AND who designed the Kaama/dr ?

Is there any main difference between how Kaama vs. Arneson (#7s) would act on a 33'? Specifically speed wise? I don't know of a 33 with Arnesons so thats my question, why hasn't anyone done it? (I figure Kaama was more popular back in the 80s/90s. so thats probably why. But any other reasons?)

Skeetz1976 06-24-2016 08:07 AM

I'm building a staggered 33 now with kaama drives.. I'll post pics and how it turns out

MSGANGWAY 06-24-2016 11:54 AM

That's been done 33' with Kaama's and it went to New England

Got the 3 kaama drives, contemplating making it a triple.. I know people may think I'm crazy but don't care how fast it is, just want to be THAT guy with a triple 33.
After all our other boat has 4 510ci big blocks in it..
