Is there any literature to read about the origins of Stuphen boats?

benjen 02-12-2014 04:20 PM

Actually a brief history on their web site.

scippy 02-12-2014 11:18 PM

Of course, It would help if I spelled the word "SUTPHEN" correctly Hello !!!!............thanks benjen

Keytime 03-01-2014 03:41 PM

Bigger than I'm looking for, but sure seems like a lot of bang for the buck. Nice ride! :D

Congrats! That is one cool machine.

JamesGang 08-08-2014 02:13 PM

Thanks Keytime. Been a Sutphen fan for a long time. I bought a 91 31" new and always dreamed of having a 39'. Dream come true and it runs the water outrageous. These Sutphens are great hulls.

mikebrls 08-09-2014 07:48 PM

39 is the cats meow :) have fun and be safe

JamesGang 09-01-2014 03:56 PM

What didn't you like about it?

JamesGang 09-01-2014 10:48 PM

Just a little too much boat for me and where I use it. Glad I kept my 31. I guess this wasn't one of my well thought out plans.

Know anyone for my 31? Commissions paid for any sales

JamesGang 09-02-2014 12:28 PM

If I know of anyone I'll let you know.

Is the 39' sitting on it's own trailer?..................forget if Bob was selling it with one.

JamesGang 09-03-2014 10:55 AM

Yea and I added a set of additional bunks to make it a little more user friendly.

what are you looking to get for it?

JamesGang 09-04-2014 07:53 PM

You know what, I'm not even going to say cause I'm starting to have second thoughts about selling it. I came up with an idea that may make it more useable for me where I use it. Sorry if I got a few peoples hopes up.

38' Dominator on u-tube w/brief startup and that's it!.........plenty of Cigs, fountains, apaches, etc; etc;..........the Sutphin 390 in particuliar Bob's 39' seems to be a diamond in the rough!

I have a recent video of mine, but of course have no clue how to post it.

JFDidio 09-06-2014 03:02 PM

Let me know if you are looking to sell... I live where you purchased it from... haha. I am interested. [email protected]

benjen 09-06-2014 04:28 PM

It's for sale. But, not at a giveaway price

Drumroll........ What's the price now?

benjen 09-06-2014 08:51 PM

This is not the boat in the thread. This boat is a 92 with 6's and 1000 hp Zul engines.

Let me know sale details

benjen 09-06-2014 09:12 PM

Well, as I said I would sell it, but not the 45 or $50K that the one on the thread sold for. I have waaaaaay too much money/new parts in this boat. In fact it's almost easier to list what isn't new in the power train. I would only sell it for $75K. I know your going to say It's too much. That's your prerogative. The long and the short of it is I won't sell it for less. The boat runs in excess of 100 in just about any water. I just replaced the gimbal rings..........dealer cost is $2600. All the rams were rebuilt and new pins. Cobra gets $10k apiece. The engines have less than 10 hours. I haven't even changed the oil yet. Blocks are new Dart tall deck, pistons, cams, lifters, shaft mount rockers, pushrods, AFR heads, ARP bolts everywhere, intercoolers, restripped Moonyhan Blowers, carbs, MSD Ignition, Aeromotive electric pumps, all the lines. Even the props just came back from BBlades. It's on a 2009 Nextrail aluminum trailer that probably has less than 3500 miles on it. I believe if this isn't the fastest, it's certainly top 2 side by side Sutphen's ever!

Benjen, you have Kenny's 39 right?

benjen 09-06-2014 09:21 PM

That is correct. Still has less than 400 hours on hull.

Seriously I have no idea how to post. I have a recent video and if you do a search type sutphen $60k open up the thread "boat price". There are a few pictures there.

Wow went away for the weekend and now everybody's on the fence about selling their 39s. Yours is beautiful benjen. I think 75 sounds like a great deal.

benjen 09-08-2014 06:34 PM

That will teach you to go away. Thanks for the kind words.

OLD MAN 09-09-2014 08:04 AM

Herb's 39' was by far the baddest sounding boat at the BLM poker run. I guess there IS something to say about Zul's. Reminded me of the 46' Rough Rider with
Zul's at the previous run. Very impressive setup.

wstultz 09-09-2014 01:24 PM

That is an awesome boat and sweet video. I had to share it. I will eventually own a 39.
