Cool set up for someone who's always wanted a staggered 40 And he knows who he is...! I know a little history about this boat.,,, Not my thing but I know a guy who loves it....& had to share! http://detroit.en.craigslist.org/mcb...539821865.html |
Not sure what all he's done to it since buying it from the Powerquest auction. I don't remember if it had the gauges, controls and interior or not. Cool boat though

isn't that trick marines old boat
|
Looks like it. 2 Brothers from Ft Meyers built it new, Parnell bought it for the power (Chief 1000's I believe) that want into his 41 Saber, Parn sold to Fred @ Trick, who never rigged it far enough to use it and then it went to MI. There's a lot of info on the boat if you dig around. -I was interested in it many yrs ago.

Sad history as a hanger queen for almost 18 years.

$70k with no motors...
|
would be an awesome ride with a pair of 750hp motors.
|
At least its not outside with all the varments in the woods somewhere.
|
Correct Kurt, re-rigged by Bobby Moore in 2000 with Chief 662 cu in 1000's
|
Oh if that boat could talk. Several old salty dogs of the sport have worked on that boat.
|
Looks like nothing was done to it since it left the powerquest building. That's just what it looked like. In fact the first few pics look they are from when it was still parked in the SE corner of the PQ building.

Can someone explain what makes a sutphen so good? I have no experience with them but people seem to speak very highly about them

Varieing dead rise, 26 at the transom, think it flares out to 22

Quality, heritage, looks, ride, customer service, lines, no b.s.
I think that covers it. Btw, I would love to own that boat |
The current owner also won the bid for the motors that fred at trick had built in the first auction. That poor boat has been around the block many times on a trailer. was a triple boat (if I remember right ) when built. use to sit at American offshore in Lauderdale. Also, no ballast tanks that I remember just 4 saddle tanks in bilge, no tank under cockpit floor( replaced part of floor by cabin entry)

I am going to try looking at this boat on monday...taking Glass dave with me anything special we should look for.
