Hey Bob. Happy New Year, hope your having a good one. That boat is gorgeous. I remember when we saw it we were idling under a bridge and it was 1/2 mile away coming towards us. I said to my friends I think that looks like a Sutphen just by looking at the nose coming at me. Everyboby in the boat, and there were 9 of us, were bustin on me saying " you think everything that looks good is a Sutphen" then that thing went by. First they ate there words then they tried to get me to go race him. I decided to quit while I was ahead, we had just beat a cigarette but I knew we were no match for that. When he took off out the other side I knew I made a good choice.

1994

Those Arnesons were originally on my 33 foot Sutphen. Chain drive and counter rotating. They were experimental at the time. Linda and Ray traded in the 33 for the 39 and the engines and drives were removed from the 33 and used on the 39. My old 33 was sold and went to Missouri where the new owner installed Mercury HP500's and Bravo 1 drives. Linda and Ray bought a Skater and sold the 39 to one of their friends who has owned it ever since. It's mint. I believe the boat even had brand new engines in crates for spares when it sold.

I always thought you would possibly end up owning that. Was a fun boat to drive wasn't it.

We took it on trade for Tsunami at Outerlimits then resold it. It was a cool boat!
