-----Leave tomorrow--------

Say a small prayer for me folks. We leave tomorrow to head to Cleveland to pick up the new boat! I feel like a 5 year old on Christmas Eve. I am packing the digital camera to document the entire trip! If all goes well I will have lots of pics to post on Monday!

Well here's the story....

Myself and a friend left Chesterfield MO at 3pm Central time.....headed for Cleveland Ohio. After drving trough many of the 1 lane road construction areas, on Hwy 70, we finally made it to Ohio. We were on the west side of Dayton, Ohio Friday night and came to a complete stop for an accident of Hwy 70. We sat under the "Spangler" road over pass for about an hour or more before continuing on. We arrived to the out skirts of Cleveland (mile marker 231) around 1am Central time. We crashed in a Holiday Inn for a couple hours and met the trucking company on Pearl Rd. The truck driver was sitting in a mall parking lot, in front of a "Old Navy" store. We exchanged paper work, hooked up to my new boat and headed back to St. Louis. We got on Hwy 71 at 7:05am (central time) and arrive back to Chesterfield MO at 5pm (central time). All I can say is WOW. What a trip!

Congratulations that is a beautiful boat. That came from New Hampshire correct? I looked at that boat, it's unbelievable clean.

You know whats funny about the entire thing is: I drove 600 miles to pick up the boat, pulled it all the way home and I haven't got to see it yet. The boat is covered completely in blue shrink wrap. So I am taking your word that the interior is clean. We bought the boat sight unseen.

Too Old.. I have "not" unwrapped it yet,,, and if everything goes well it won't get unwrapped until it goes to Central Performance and Rigging at the LOTO. (The guys that SSherman used for Jesse James). By the way I have a print out of that advertisement hanging in my office, kinda makes me feel real good.

Sutphenman... We purchased the boat sight unseen, except for the pictures that were exchanged over the internet. Although I talked to several people fromt he area that said it was prestine.

WOW...looks great. By the "420" on arresters and TRS drives it looks like a mid- late 80's ? Would be interested as I built them in that era.

SinkorSwim 11-01-2002 08:45 AM

The story in a nutshell

Stillcrazy - The boat is a 1986 Ocean Pacer,,everything is orginal. The 420's and the TRS drives are fresh... and the interior is all orginal.

Stillcrazy 11-01-2002 09:10 AM

leave tomorrow

Sink or Swim,
Thanks for the info,it is definitly one of the boats that I built while at Sutphen. The 30 was always the hot rod of the line. It didn't have all the nuances of the 33 and 38 and because of that you recognized that somehow it was really ment to be mean.

SinkorSwim 11-01-2002 09:18 AM

Stillcrazy

Thanks for the encouraging words. You guys are gonna make it real hard to keep that thing wrapped up for the next few months. Do you have any estimations on what kind of speed this boat would have had new? 60+?

Stillcrazy 11-01-2002 09:48 AM
