Hey ,,,fullforce,,,,dont let them tell you they will not fit.

A c71 or 72 is the same housing ,,,,,on your pic there is no tailstock on it ,,so what ever tailstock u bolt on there it will fit.

They even take a #6 tailstock unless the tranny's are for driveshaft then they will not take any tailstock.

Can u post a picture of the back side of that tranny ?????

They are not the same housing. The 71C is 15/16" shorter than the 72C.

That part I was aware of, the guy that bought one of these had a 71c ini his cruiser, apparently they are dififerent housiings, same guts, it has been a huge ordeal and he wants his money back... I am working with the guy since I am not a dik. there was never anything said in the sale about a gaurantee to fit or money back, he is lucky Ii am a nice guy, he claiimed through paypal Ii sent the wrong thiing but since it was shuipped and it was a 71C still they denied to deal with it.
Good thing I am a honest person, I could go tell him to pound salt at this point.

If the cruiser was an inboard, the trans would have a flange output. Yes the cases are different for flange and plug-in (tail stocks)

Not to hijack this thread . . . but for those who might need:

One pair of Borg Warner Velvet Drive 1:1 72C transmissions, for TRS applications. They were sold to me as new old stock by a friend who had a boat building business. They were on his shelves for years, and now they are on mine.

I also have another pair of 72C's, that are good used takeouts, and include the hard to find TRS tailstocks. They came out of my 35' Cigarette Mistress, which wound up being sold as an unfinished project.

I'd like to unload both pairs, I'm asking $750 each unit or $1200 for each pair. They are located in South Florida

E-mail me at [email protected] if you're interested and I can send you pics.

Thanks,

Harry
