Did you ever get one? I have one if you still need it.

bsc 01-30-2009 10:09 AM

yep still looking

I've got one. I bought an extra because they are so hard to find. I'm looking to sell my boat now so I don't need it. I've been seeing them go for $1500, what did you want to spend?

540phil 02-04-2009 07:15 PM

Will this fit to an alpha? I doubt it, but Ive never seen what I am looking for.

kennyo 02-05-2009 07:47 AM

No, it fits a bravo. I've seen one for sale a long time ago. If I run across one i'll let you know. You have a 540 on an alpha???

Kenny,
I’m interested in your Stern Jack just the money is tied up right now sorry.
Did you have external steering on the Stern jack?

Yes, I made my own mount for the rams. I didn't want to put spacers on the transom. I've got it priced to a guy for $1200. You can email me if you want. [email protected]

No, Not in the 230 sl it still has a stock 454 330hp as from the factory.
An alpha ss shortie will handle 400-450 hp due to the shorter shaft and less distance between bearings. I think your right a normal length alpha would self distruct at these hp. I know of many Chris Craft boats from 81?-88, had 454 330s from the factory some singles, some twins.
My 540 was sold when gas hit $4.50 a gallon and I had a buyer with a check.
I have two alpha ss outdrives both RH and I would like to find a sternjack because it is less expensive than finding a bravo shortie and a box (min 4-5 grand used if available) and changeing transom brackets etc. I know Alpha sternjacks exist and have heard people say, that if used with some common sense the sternjacks work well. But we all know how much common sense is available on the water especially on the weekends.

Hey Brother,

DISTURBED1 02-14-2009 09:21 AM

If anyone is still looking for a stern jack, I have a bravo jack in great condition, will take $1500.00 for it with the extended ram's included, shift cable, studs, it's all there. I will throw in 2 bravo drive o-ring sets.
