502 & 454 f/s in NJ
 

I have a spare GEN 6 502 mpi engine forsale. It is only a short block, it is a 415hp mpi engine so it has the good steel GM crank. dimpled 7/16 rods, forged JE pistons. It has oilpan, front cover, dampner, camshaft, roller lifters, timing chain, etc. It is complete shortblock. The engine is torn down for inspection.

I have a Gen 4 454 330hp complete engine. It is a good 4 bolt block, but cast crank, rods, and pistons, oval port "peanut port" heads. It is 100% complete and will come with a Edelbrock performer intake and stock carb. The engine is torn down for inspection.

502 dimpled rods and JE pistons.

Ok there is a problem!
When I was cleaning the parts up since they have been sitting for some time and had dust and what not on them I noticed that the rings on the one 502 piston (the one on the upper right corner) of the pic that shows the dimple rods and JE pistons is siezed. The rings will not moved and looked to be pinched in the groves of the piston. Also I started to clean that piston and rod real well and noticed that that rod is bend ever so slightly..so that rod and piston is junk. All the other rods and pistons are 100%.
I dont want to sell junk to anybody so I just want to post it on here so everyone knows what is up.
Iam willing to sell it still but not at the $1000 price since you will need to now get a rod and piston to replace the one that is damaged.
Make an offer on the 502, but dont kill me. I'll just keep it as a back up block if I need to for future build.
