How many hp and hours?

markodessa 10-27-2010 12:31 PM

It has 650 hp, less than 100 hours. Motor was running perfect when pulled. It ran 82 mph in a 26 cig.

rchevelle71 10-27-2010 01:19 PM

What the heck is a 26 cig???

Pantera24 10-27-2010 01:22 PM

It's a short 28'...:lolhit:

Maybe he meant 26' Go fast type? Didnt know if cig made a 26' boat. But 650HP sounds close depending on the boost psi and build.

maybe, but the 82MPH may be impressive, or not depending on what hull it was in, for instance, 82 MPH in a 27 fountain with that motor would not impress me, 82 in a 28 cig would:drink:

markodessa 10-27-2010 03:41 PM

Ok I meant to say 28 ft. Sig. I think most would agree Im not trying to impress anyone just trying to sell a engine. Now any questions about the engine?

OK,

that makes sense, just a simple typo. Wasnt trying to bust stones, just figured anyone that wanted to buy this engine may have second thoughts, since we all know there is no such thing as a 26 Cig, but do you now mean 28 CIGARETTE, or Sig??:drink:

markodessa 10-27-2010 06:32 PM

Ok here we go. Cigarette. Would you like to purchase this engine sir?

Nobody breakin balls, just tryin to get some back ground it the engine. What year and model was the Cigarette it came out of? Was it a single or twin engine boat? Your gonna have to answer lots of questions if you expect someone to spend 6k on something.

Thank you,

I have no interest in this engine, just thought it might help his ad to have the facts. I thought 28 cigarettes were all twins, but maybe I am wrong??:lolhit:

I am just saying that if this was in a 28 Cig, it must have been rerigged to a single, or it had 2 of these, at which point 82 MPH is nothing to brag about. personally I would delete this thread, and start over with the facts.

markodessa 10-28-2010 01:03 PM

You two A holes need to find another hobby. We bought this motor to put in a 22ft donzi and we could not make it clear the swim deck. The man we got it from said 82 mph in his 26 cig. Now do you get the picture. This is a good engine for a good price. Im not trying to impress either one of you guys as a mater of fact I don't care what you think. Its a good deal and if you don't want it quit yappin. Thanks......Mark

Never said it was a bad deal, your bad for believeing what he said, since there is no such thing as a 26 cigarette, wonder what other BS was made up about the engine(not saying by you, but maybe the previous owner)? Since you have not run it, why should anyone buy it on heresay, and no dyno sheet?? Truth has come out, you are selling something you have no idea what it is, go ahead, and sell it, and if it blows up your name will be dirt for misrepresenting it, kinda like that other thread started by a Baja owner:eek: This kinda stuff touches home a little as I just got finished helping a very good friend rebuild a 622" Naturally aspirated big block that he bought from someone here, and it was never right, cost him big $$(custom J/E pistons, new Dart CNC heads etc after it dropped a valve) and a ton of garage time to get it right. I'll quit my yapping now, and go run my little outboard boat :drink:

markodessa 10-28-2010 03:08 PM

Do you think a dino sheet will keep a motor together? Thanks for your input. I guess we should put it in a boat and see what it will do, then pull it out get it on a dino and get the sheet make a million copys for people like you that have no plans on buying it, then tear it down put fresh bearings and rings add a thousand hour warranty. That sounds good huh. Or just tell you to kiss my- -- and sell it to someone as is.

MILD THUNDER 10-28-2010 03:16 PM

Wow, this thread getting heated.

Some info such as

Compression ratio
Cylinder head make and size
Camshaft specs
Type of crank/rods/pistons

With that info, it would be able to determine whether its a solid engine to invest in, or pass on. Also will help to determine how much power it makes.

Maybe I should have played nice, and told him he should post that stuff a while back, but it is too much fun to mess with a baja owner, besides, not sure if he even knows that info, since he bought it and never used it. Not sure why it wouldnt fit into a 22 Donzi, seeing as they come stock with big blocks, unless it had something to do with the blower and they didnt want to cut?? But what do I know, my boat has an outboard:grinser010::party-smiley-004:

People are very weary about buying a used engine from the get go. On top of that, the facts seem to be off in your listing. Were just trying to get the story straight with the engine. Dont get mad at us because you dont know anything about the engine. I had a 22 Donzi w/ a 509 in it. No problems fitting at all. A blower wont fit under a flat engine hatch, but if you put a scoop on the boat, it will. Mine didnt have a swim deck, so I dont know about that. Sound like YOU didnt do any research before you bought this engine! You should have the guy you bought it from post the engine specs and the list of parts used to build it. THEN, it will sell.

wjb21ndtown 10-28-2010 05:51 PM

Things have been testy around these parts lately...

Im not mad, just dont like idiots mouthing off. the motor has forged pistons (flat top) solid lifter cam(flat tapet dont know the specs), gm steel crank, dimple rods, crane roller rockers, alum heads, not markings to indicate the brand( they do have freeze plugs on the ends) cant be sure so I wont lie. dont know the brand of oil in the motor, paint is black probly crylon cant be sure. Bearings show no wear. Now that you have for no reason tried to discredit me for what ever reason I hope this makes you sleep better. The motor would not clear the engine cover and don like the scoop look. Now if you can add, you know this is a good deal. Stock big blocks go for 4-5 k just see it for what it is. YOU WILL NOT SET ANY WORLD RECORDS BUT YOU WILL HAUL ASS.

Dont bother, he cant even spell Krylon(or DYNO for that matter), and if they couldnt tell that the blower wouldnt clear before they bought the engine, a tape measure would have given them that info.:lolhit: Not trying to discredit anyone, but without knowing him, it is hard to even consider parting with the $$, even though I do agree it is a good price if it is what it is supposed to be, but we have no idea of what it is supposed to be, I could put some krylon and a blower on that tool from the other engine threads motor and tell everone that it is a 650:eek: Surely he must have a build sheet, dyno sheet, or at least some receipts??

rchevelle71 10-29-2010 09:33 AM

This is how you sell an engine:evilb:

You guys need to lay off this guy. This seems like a great buy on a motor that he has some knowledge about, he also seems like a stand up guy and someone I would like to do business with.:drink:

Maybe,

But this started out having fun with the 26' Cig comment, and keeping his ad at the top, 'til he said this

"You two A holes need to find another hobby. We bought this motor to put in a 22ft donzi and we could not make it clear the swim deck. The man we got it from said 82 mph in his 26 cig. Sorry, if he thinks we are "A holes " for trying to help him, then I am going to be an A-Hole!!!

markodessa 10-29-2010 01:01 PM

Ok I need to work on my spelling. But I don't think what you and kreed are doing is helping me at all. You have over 5100 post in seven years, I can see you have helped alot of people like me. I think I can do without anymore of you guys help. Thanks Frank for the kind words, its nice to know someone can get my message.

rchevelle71 10-29-2010 05:25 PM

I am done, good luck with the sale, even gave you an example of an engine ad that I would trust, but it is up to you.
