15ft Glen L Crackerbox for sale!! 2,000.00 firm
New 15' Glen-L Crackerbox
This boat was built from Glen-L plans over 3 years, it has never had a real engine installed. It was completed in 2009 and hasnt been touched since. (the engine in the pics is a plastic mock-up motor)
I have too many projects and this one has to go.
The basics
Framework and stringers - all #1 SYP very strong and straight grained, all frames glued and bolted together.
Sheeting - bottom is 1/2" fir marine ply, sides and deck are 1/4", all fastened with silicon bronze fasteners
All wood was assembled with epoxy and interior is coated with 3 coats of epoxy and 3 coats of spar varnish.
All exterior ( hull and deck ) are coated with epoxy and 7 OZ fiberglass cloth ( Cloth needs to be re-done around engine compartment), finished out with 3 additional coats of epoxy. The exterior was then primed with Pettit Easypoxy and finished with Easypoxy Urethane enamel.
Note, the bottom and the deck are complete, the sides only have one coat of color, they need 2 more, material is supplied.
*Paint job needs to be redone.
The engine mount is a rail system made of aluminum alloy as are the stringer to engine bearer mounts.
It is set up for a small block Chevy, mounting plates and bell housing is included
The fuel tank is located in rear, and 18 gallon aluminum tank with deck fill and vent system
Teleflex rack and pinion steering system, with mechanical linkage to the outboard rudder
A hot foot throttle is installed, no cable
Dashboard is solid red oak finished with multiple coats of spar varnish
gauges are Teleflex Amega, chrome bezels, back lighted, marine ignition switch with extra key
Seating and side panels are of polyfoam covered with marine vinyl, bases are epoxy coated marine ply.
The electrical system is completely wired, lighted switches for all systems.
All circuits are fused and wiring is bundled and neatly installed.
The interior has indirect cockpit lighting, bow light, stern light and bilge pump are not installed nor included. The wiring for these items is run.
Drivetrain is chrome steel shaft with a fabricated steel high strength strut, 12 deg with cutlass bearing installed. the shaft is not finished on ends, needs taper cut and cut to length
An aluminum shaft log is installed as is the chrome stuffing box.
A trailer is included.
A thrust ball bearing and mount is installed
(2) 8' pcs of Trelleborg wet exhaust hose
(1) 3 blade bronze prop selected for the SBC RPM range
Unfinished rudder blade , alum alloy
set of unfinished cavitation plates and mounting tabs, alum alloy
Mock-up motor is NOT included
Boat can be picked up in Southern Maine or I might consider delivery a reasonable distance for expenses only.
I paid 4,000.00 dollars for this boat 2yrs ago.
2,000.00 firm or would trade for a new set of bravo height BBC Stainless Marine exhaust.
The two pictures are old and It comes with a better fittling trailer. I will post current pictures tomorrow. (weather permiting). Boat will need a new paint job and Minor cloth repair around engine compartment.
I have photos of the entire build process, It was done right. A total steal at this price. It would cost you over 4k in materials alone to build this boat.
Your chance to own a true hot rod!

If anyone wants me to take a look I am in Naples every weekend. Wish I did not have so many projects going on or I would be all over this thing.
