525 hp BBC, 50 hours
Below are the details on the engine I'm selling I'm asking $6000. I went the route of using a 427 crank on this engine due to it having a flatter torque curve than say a 496. This also allows the engine to run at high rpms for a long time due to the short stroke. The shorter stroke also keeps torque in check, this engine should be around 500-550 ft lbs of torque which is easier on the drive than a similar 496 higher torque engine. I had this in my Formula 242 and depending on the day it would give me a top speed of 66-69 MPH with a stock Mirage Plus prop and pop it out of the hole instantly. The only reason why I'm selling this is that I bought a Formula 292 and am selling the 242. I've got around $10,000 into this engine and I feel its easier to sell the engine out of the boat vs increasing the price of the boat. If you have any questions please let me know PM or Phone 847-754-0335.
I'm asking $6000 for the engine which is compete minus oil cooling system and exhaust. All engine work was done by Dave at Wesco Racing and all consulting on the engine was done with Bob Mandera of Marine Kinetics. 440 Cubic Inch BBC 525 hp @ 6000 rpms Block- Decked Align Honed Bored .060 over Steam holes drilled Bore notched Rotating assembly: GM Forged Crank, NOS 3.76 Stroke Eagle H Beam Rods- Resized at Wesco SRP Forged Domed Pistons ATI Super Damper Valve Train: AFR 265 Oval Port Heads CNC Chambers, inconel Exhaust Valves Morel Roller Lifters Scorpion Endurance Marine Rockers Marine Kinetics Roller Cam 234/240 .63/.61 Fuel System: Weiand Stealth Intake Pro Systems HP Holley, 830 CFM Holley Marine Fuel Pump MISC: Mercruiser Thunderbolt distributor Gil Flame Arrestor Gil 10 Qt Oil Pan and pick up Oil valley Screen kit Mellings 10778C oil pump |

Here are a couple of pictures of the engine from last summer. I just pulled the engine and can get some more pictures if you want them. I also have a picture of my 242 running at WTO with this engine. It take a lot of power to get this boat to ride this far out of the water.
