SO no answer to my question?

smokin' gun 01-16-2012 08:49 AM

Its a stupid question. If you want it quiet when when your on the throttle just turn them on to divert out the prop

jeff32 01-16-2012 05:54 PM

Its not a stupid question.

My boat the exhaust is QUITE all the time unless i turn ON the silent choice, that opens the exhaust.

so when you are flipping the key (for what ever reason, checking batterys, problems starting what ever) you here the valve actuating all the time for no reason. and I RARELY make them quite. so i would like to get a set of the valve that have the opposite actuator location.

which means they are spring loaded OPEN, and electricly close.....

which way are the ones you have left to sell. all i need is the opper part with the vlave in it.

then its wired wrong they dont make them any other way .take the wire thats going to the key and remove it and hook to a switch on and off .your done finished prb solved .unless you have something ive never seen and i dought it you have the same as everone .show me some pics just gotta see this

I have spoken to the manufacture, they make them both ways.

sprung open (Loud), and when powered, they shut (quite)

or sprung closed (quite) and when powered, they open (Loud).

If i did as you say, and took the key out of the loop, then when i turned off the boat, the valve would still have power going to them and kill the batteries. (seen a boat like this, and those actuators pull alot of current and will kill one pretty fast.)

The exhaust is on a factory switch. when off. the boat is quite. you can turn the switch on, but without the key on, nothing. but when you have the key on that gives the switch power, and they will open. So i normally leave the switch ON. casue i like the boat load 99% of the time. but when ever i check a gauge, have to restart, what ever those damn things anre opening and shutting for no reason.

So i am guessing your are sprung open? interested in a trade of one set? I assume not? but have to ask, and if not how much for just the upper 2 pieces with the valves, and actuators.

also i assume these fit a 454 as well?
