Merc Bulldog 540 short blocks
 

Two (2) Merc Bulldog 540 short blocks. Chev Bowtie tall deck internally balanced BB Chevys. The starboard engine was running good prior to tear down. The port engine short block requires service. The oil pick-up screen came loose and oil pressure dropped to 25/10 psi resulting in damage to fuel pump rod cam lobe, and bearing wear. The motor is on a engine stand and the main and rod bearings show wear although the crank may be able to be polished and if not .010 will likely clean the crank. Front of block at cam timing chain gear requires machine work, Short blocks include oil pans and flywheels. Pistons/cylinders look Ok on both engines. 400+ hours and I would go through both motors. Repowering with Dart 582's. Engines located in Boca Raton, Fl. PM with Best offer.
