Gil Manifolds and Risers with built-in Silent Choice + Y-pipe
 

Up for sale is one pair of Gil aluminum MerCruiser manifolds with stainless steel risers that have the Merc Silent Choice diverters built right in. These include the air powered actuators, but they could easily be switched out for electric solenoids if so desired. Manifold set includes new riser gaskets. Manifolds and risers are in very good condition, but there is one small area where the black powder coat flaked off on the underside where it comes in contact with the head. Does not show when installed. Includes Y-pipe and hose connectors and clamps.

Fresh or salt water use.

I never ran them, but I purchased them from another OSO member who lives in Henderson, Kentucky. All fresh water around here. You can have them pressure tested if you are worried about leaks, and if there is a problem I will take them back and refund your money. You will just have to pay to ship them back, since I am picking up the tab for outgoing shipping.

..for anyone interested I had two pair of these,I sold the matching set to a friend I work with and he has been running them with no issues..hope this helps..

Well, there used to be - I bought one set of the pair Wes was selling in the spring of 2011. Sounds like he sold the other set to his friend. Maybe if his friend is looking for something different he would want to sell. Wes?

I'll check with him and see..he was talking about selling his boat and putting the stock manifolds/risers back on..not sure what his plans are now..

TTT - these would make a nice upgrade for someone running stock Merc manifolds who wants to go bigger on the cam...

TTT - someone had asked me where the water dumps on the risers. I looked down them the other night and they dump the water immediately in front of the Y-pipe. These were a factory option on an HP500 engine.

I would really prefer to sell the manifolds and risers together. I have over $800 in those alone. If I can get someone interested in just the manifolds by themselves I'll consider it. You are aware that this is just one pair, right?

What's the difference between "true Gil" and "MerCruiser Gil"? My understanding is Merc was factory equipping their high HP engines with Gil manifolds and risers. Aside from the name cast in the manifolds, they should be the same thing.

Not sure if I am interested in trading anything. The main reason I am selling them is that I'm tired of tripping over them. That and I could use the money to offset the cost of my rebuild.

they arent different just the name gil is more expensive and i want silent choice so i thought it would be a good trade its like buying a set of snap on taps from snap on they are 500 but mac has the same set same exact case with different stickers for 350
