496 Short Block
 

496 Merc Short Block machined to 504 CID (4.375 x 4.280). Has steel crank with both timing reluctors, forged pistons with deep valve relief and H-Beam Rods. Total run time – 162 hrs with 8 synthetic oil changes. Oil samples are included and all 8 have excellent compression (168 LB average)

Bores are beautiful, never run hot or low oil etc. Was going to save as a spare but decided against being in the parts storage business. If you have a damaged 496 this would make a great fix. Has excellent oil pressure and there are no issues or problems with it. Bolt your heads and accessories on and run.
