Nice package, good luck with the sale. Don't be discouraged by people knocking down what you are selling. If they don't like it then don't buy it. Easy.......Next

frickstyle 06-13-2014 09:34 AM

Price is realistic, ask me how I know. GLWS.

Lucky1456 06-13-2014 10:05 PM

Iron heads make more heat this making motor power all the way around. I guess he never heard that before.

bababooey1000 06-16-2014 05:42 PM

well i guess if nobody is going to ask, i will, how is this price realistic?

You serious? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

JRider 06-16-2014 08:51 PM

My guess is the iron heads are for salt water. Aluminum no likey.

Unlimited jd 06-16-2014 10:48 PM

If you research it you'll see that an iron head retains more heat in the chamber instead of dissipating it like aluminum and will make more power. Prob is most companies don't make big iron heads like there aluminum counterparts, and in a marine engine there are other ways to make the power while controlling chamber temp and detonation.
But 2 engines with the same heads one cast in iron one in aluminum the iron will make more power

until the detonation kills it!

Wait, you posted it and you are asking if it is realistic? Am I missing something here? I thought you were selling it?

Go price out a new build, from a custom builder, with those parts, seems to be realistic to me.

Real world testing has refuted this old wives tale. Aluminum heads are lighter and easier to port, let's just leave it at that.

SB 06-23-2014 02:48 PM

There are a few good head porters left that will port cast iron.

Keith Eickert has been around for a very long time, especially in the race offshore world.

He uses expensive parts and i'd guess he charged a lot of money too.

I'd pay a lot more for Keith Eickert than a SB's General Repair Shop anyday.
