The blower pulley that was chipped during shipping is being replaced I had to search and find one through a third party. I was told it shipped yesterday and asked for a tracking number

For whoever is looking to receive a blower pulley, Chad purchased one from me. I am usually a ittle slow on shipping. It is not close to my house so I usually wait until I am going in that general dierection. I apologize if it is causing friction. Obviously not on my list of most important things to do over the holiday. Chad was nice enough to pay up front. If I had know there was so much friction, I would have moved faster on this, Part shipped out today. I can't seem to get ahold of Chad on FB right now, but if you need the tracking number, Message me. I have been on OSO fro a very long time and sold and bought many many thousands of dollars worth of parts on this site. It should get ot you Monday. Obviously the holidays are getting in the way. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.

The friction is that the blower and carb were damaged in shipping. The package was insured, but UPS said it wasn't their problem because it wasn't packaged properly. Naturally, if you just shelled out over $2500 plus the shipping and paypal fees for parts only to have them show up damaged without much of any recourse, trust me, there's going to be friction. I even agreed to deal with the carb issue myself because I felt bad for Chad. When I didn't hear anything from Chad for over a week at a time, I began to feel like I was being taken advantage of. Looks like we're all good now.
Thanks for the update, Jeff. |
Just letting everyone know that Jeff's pulley showed up at my office over the Christmas break. Much appreciated.

Nickerson tuned and jetted for that blower and intake on a 500+ cu in..... Beware of what you buy. I was over $3K into this before finding out that the blower was for the most part worn out. I have the blower being rebuilt now. The measured clearances were 16 thousandths across the board. No wonder it was only making 5 lbs with the smallest pulley B&M made for that blower. There was also paint debris down in the air bleeds and idle restrictions. I've been rebuilding them this week since they're off the boat. So, about $900 to redo an "absolutely new" blower, plus my time to R&R, plus wasted dyno time. Just to clarify.... I've only put about two and a half - three hours on the blower since receiving it in December of 2014. Two hours on the dyno (June 2015), and another half hour or so testing in the boat (November 2015). And to add, the only reason I held onto all this stuff was because UPS wouldn't accept a return due to having it all thrown into a box, and Chad didn't appear to want to do much more than replace a pulley. The box was literally falling apart with parts of the blower and carbs protruding from the box. Update... after having just spoken with Dean Nickerson about these carbs... I get to find that they're over 20 years old. Buyer beware! |
