Complete ready to run engine 1071 blower 502 BBC pumpgas

Here is a Complete engine, fresh rebuild still on the Dyno cart.

The engine was built buy Garry Grimes twister engines out of Atlanta Ga (he builds MANY successful offshore engines)

It is a 502 big block chevy Intake to oilpan, with distributer and fuel pump.

-Forged GM crank
-Forged arp 7/16 bolt rods
-JE pistons
-Ported Iron heads
-GM 4 bolt heavy duty block
-Comp cams custom grind cam with stud girdle, roller rockers ect.
-B&M megablower 420 (based on research a good blower that falls between a 6-71 and 8-71 size, based on B&M's own design that has supported up to 1000hp depending on the engine used)
-Air/water aftercooler
-Demon carbs jetted and tuned on the dyno
-8.5:1 compression setup for 93 octane

Dynoed 705 hp (very mild for pumpgas can easily support more)

Good reliable engine that just has dyno time after being refreshened. $8500 complete ready to run.

Call with any more specifics, we changed over to cars and turbo smallblocks so we are selling the boat parts. I can also get you into contact with the engine builder as well for any more questions.

Thanks! Sam D. 423 605 2083 The engine is located in Chattanooga TN.

Will you sell the edelbrock 10-71 separately?

DRInnovations 12-02-2014 05:12 PM

I would like to sell complete. I have it priced for a pretty good deal for someone. We are trying to work with grimes on the 4v mercury Lsx heads on a hotrod setup so hopefully this puts a small dent in that project hahaha.

feel free to text or email as well [email protected]

That is a b&m 420 mega blower. It's a little smaller than an 8-71, little bigger than a 6-71.

dsmawd350 12-02-2014 08:17 PM

I would be a little concerned with the parts and knowledge of the engine with a description of a B&M 420 as a edelbrock 10-71 ( which doesn't even exist)

502's with a mechanical fuel pumps hanging off the side sure are hard to come by in these parts .that would make a great motor for a shovelnose hydro ,or my sj

Thanks for the replys. Thats what I get for typing off a description handed to me on a sheet of paper from the "self admitted" wild and crazy space kadet previous owner HAHAHA. The engine has been at my shop (I do alot of turbo smallblocks) since it was pulled from the dyno at Grimes. I building the turbo setup on the newer hotrod. I just talked to Garry Grimes himself and yes it is a B&M megablower 420 and he says depending on the fuel used it can make easily north of 800 Hp.

Based on searches on this website the Megablower 420 has pretty darn good reviews :)

Anyways, taking some more pictures for you guys. I admit im not a blower man, but thanks for the corrections.

Good blower, very efficient. Some parts a little hard to come by so just stay on top of maintenance.

DRInnovations 12-03-2014 03:22 PM

Engine is sitting in the lonely corner waiting for a new home. Ive been doing Turbo/centrifugal forced induction LSX platform motors for many years, any specifics on those engines I can gladly help as well. Have done tons of setups from methanol, ethanol and various boost and compression ratios/pressures. cannot wait for the 400+ cfm 4v mercury heads with the structural integrity to hold the head down under boost. (our main issues Minus billet heads and 6 bolt layouts)
