GM Rectangle Port Heads, 26 Hours.

I have two sets of GM Rectangle port heads. One is for Mark IV and the other Gen 5. These are still on my boat but I will pull them once sold.

The Mark IV set have been completely rebuilt. New valve seats, valves, valve guides, valve seals, Isky 8005 sp springs, Isky 200 ST retainers and Isky VL 10 locks. These are set up with great parts. These are set up for a hydraulic roller cam. There are currently 26 hours on the heads since they were rebuilt.

The Gen V heads were brand new take offs. I replaced he valve springs and retainers and locks to the same parts as in the Mark IV heads. There are 24 hours of total run time on these heads.

If interested make me an offer.

Again these are not stock heads, these are ready to run for an aggressive HR cam.

If someone is interested in buying both sets without the Isky components I will sell them that way as well at a lower price.

What brands of valves? Are the exhaust seats cast or pressed in?

ledgeharp 01-13-2015 09:06 PM

what are the casting #? and how much with out the springs?

I'm pretty sure the seats were pressed in. The valves are OE valves spec'd by mercruiser, I'm sure they are sealed power. I cannot find my receipts from the machine shop but I'm pretty sure they put in inconnel exhaust valves as I remember saying they were not needed. But they insisted they go in and I don't think it cost much more. I have no proof of that so I'm selling as if they are standard issue valves. This is all for the Mark IV heads. Gen V are all stock other than springs & retainers.

The casting numbers are 188 on the Mark IV and 088 on the Gen V. Make me an offer on them. I know what I have in them, and I know what old ones that need work go for. Depending on how you buy them they are bolt on ready. So throw a number out and lets see if we can make a deal. I had $650 into the springs, retainers and locks, so If you don't want any of that stuff I'll subtract $300. They are practically new and I will use them in my new heads.

How does this sound.
088 heads complete- $800.00 without springs and retainers $600.00
188 heads compete- $850.00 without springs and retainers $650.00

To take a set of these and have them rebuilt your going to have over $1000 into each set of heads to take them back to stock. So I think this is a pretty good deal. I'm also open to offers.

Interested in the Mark IV heads. What cam are you running in the Mark IV.

Thanks

I'm running a reeds roller cam which is 232/237 @.578/.578 lift. As they are set up you could easily run a cam like a 741. I'm replacing the current cams with Crane 741 cams and I could run the current springs without any issues on that cam. In fact if the heads sell without the springs that is what I'm going to do. If you're interested, I'll make you a good deal on the reed cam. You should make around 440-450 hp with the heads and cam.

I would be interested in a pkg. deal. Cam and complete heads.
