Default 5.9 Cummins Marine

Posting this for a friend of mine. 380hp 5.9 cummins marine engine. He is taking the computer to cummins monday to see how many hours are on it. I wouldnt be suprised if it was started at cummins then the fluids were drained and shipped to who ever originally bought it and never had fluids put back in it. The green tag is on the dip stick. He is asking $14,800 obo.

That doesn't look like a b model Cummins. It looks like a late model c 8.3L. The tag on the timing gear case will tell you the model, cubes and liters. The lines going into the cylinder head look different than b's

It's the cr injection that might be why you think the lines look different.

Ahh. I can see the rail now. The all white makes it tough to see. Lol.

Not trying to cause confusion. Best of luck on your sale.

Try boat diesel forum or the hull truth forum there are a lot commercial and /or fishermans on that use the cummins a lot ,the price is pretty good I think as long as its not used or very low hr but whit out the proof of the computer read out its a risk for a buyer .On the other hand parts are very expensive maybe some one buy it for parts .
