496HO Camshaft
Merc 496 HO camshaft. Just pulled to upgrade to a Raylar 203 cam. Lobes, journals, cam gear all look good. Normal wear patterns for a hyd roller profile.

Did you do more than just cam when you did swap? If so what else? If not what real gains did you get from cam? Been thinking to do cam rockers and ported intake myself. |

Already was running the 80mm CoolGap intake and roller rockers. 203 cam will be installed once I put the engine back together. I had the cam on the shelf, so why not. Comp 911 valvesprings, retainers, locks and rotator eliminators will complete the setup on stock heads at the moment. I'm hoping for 2 mph gain vs the HO cam. Can't afford the Raylar heads and high 70s and reliable is ok with me. |
