How "deep" are these - how thick a transom can they deal with and still have room for connecting to exhaust tubes?

The mounting studs are 2.85 inches long, 2 inches are not threaded and the pipe is 4 inches long. The hull minimum thickness would need to be just under 2 inches thick and no more than 2.65 inches thick, with out modifications.
