I actually used to race one of these on a 22ft Velocity in A-class. As long as your not putting a ton of torque through it, it is a great drive. I put 500hp through mine at 7200rpm and 93mph.
I also bolted mine onto a friends velocity and it gained 8mph from his standard Alpha.
These are 3.5" shorter than a standard alpha and have the 2.4 liter outboard crescent gear case with low water pickup. I ran mine on the surface with a cleaver prop.
I don't know the seller, but do know these rare drives. If anyone wants to ask questions in general about these drives feel free to call me. 239-443-8233

2.5 inches shorter not 3.5
I gained 10 MPH when I bolted one onto my Glastron.
But I had 500+ HP also and could snap the drive at will.
ended up selling the boat.
My best speed was 94

They came with HD upper gearsets. The shorter vertical driveshaft is NLA from merc. It had a recessed oring groove near the upper splines. When overpowered, this was a common breakage point. The cases are also NLA. Standard Alpha gears/bearings in lower.
Ran one from 08-2014 on a 383 500hp 21' Challenger. 5mph & 500rpm gain with no prop work. Member SB here is still kicking s***! with it.

$2500 is a great price ! This was the quick sale price 5-10yrs ago. Some where getting $3000 but had to wait longer to sell.
If no action here (mostly BBC I/O's and outboard boats on OSO) I'd go to the Donzi site. Should be fast sale there. Like, real fast.
These don't come up for sale much. Sometimes takes a few yrs to find one.
I heard the same !
