When I add the power adder to my 598 I plan on doing what you are. I am running an X drive upper and a -3 IMCO lower right now that was assembled by Dick Tryce. ( Mr. Gadgets )
He about had a heart attack when I built the 598 ( 800+ HP ) His words - that's not built for that kind of torque.
My prop shaft is 2 inches above the lowest point on the bottom of the hull.

what are you looking to gain with the dual down shaft lower? Just curious. Glws

Damn spell check... anyway glad u got a laugh out of it...dual shaft is faster...I have a friend with one back to back testing 6-7 mph
