12 Meter Fountain

Selling minus engines and exhaust! Boat has the looks that many miss. Gets a ton of looks on and off the water. Cockpit interior was updated from the original and overall in nice shape. The seats etc in the cabin have been lifted however still inside to expose the mid section stringer on the stbd side. Pretty easy fix/replacement. Drives are SM 3’s with 16 3/4 x 27 props. Transmissions BW C72’s fresh. Offshore Engine mounts included. Trailer just had all new bearings and races etc done at local shop last summer.

Ran the boat as is for approx 21hrs 2023. Boat is a riot and looks GREAT!

I do not wish to part out as it would be a SHAME and VERY reasonable for somebody to get into a boat like this! $21,000

I got it here in MI however previous owner did i believe. I recall him talking about thats where it was when the SM conversion took place. Did a great job with the drive height! Comes on plane very quickly. Handles great and one of the easiest boats to navigate. 87 mph with NA 565's

What is that stuff wrapped around the trailer?

I should've mentioned that. it's a foam padded vinyl cover that was installed for Miami boat show back in the day. I waws going to remove it however just left it on. Pics are very current and boat stored most its life

Good catch - I had the cylinders off last spring and sent downstate just to be cked out before splashing the boat mid summer. Must have been a pic from then!

It looks like an old waterbed bumper. Very correct for the era!

I can’t believe this hasn’t sold yet!

So is the middle stringer in the cabin needing to be replaced? And all the interior in the cabin is out? Just trying to understand.
Did they raise the drive height during the conversion? If so by how much?
How much hp were your 565s making?

The stringer that needs replaced is the one between the forward (Vbirth) and the cockpit on the starboard side. To sum it up what appears to have caused was the 4” holes that were drilled for the seat/couch bolts were never resined and water was trapped up there with nowhere to go. Likely water that came through the pop up cleats. I just removed the carpet on that side and cut out the stringer from bulkhead to bulkhead. Plan was to glass in another stringer and marry new cross stringers to the existing ones and recarpet. The seats and couches were the ugly ones (but very clean) that most all boats had then so was gonna expire all of them and just make vinyl foam padded bottoms and backs for a clean simple look. Just use velcro to mount. Personally I don’t spend anytime in there unless it’s a night anchored so that would be my choice.

The 565’s in the neighborhood of 750+ @ 6k. SR engines with a ton of head work by Valako. The hull was trued and the drives are definitely above stock location with center shaft at approx 2 1/2 - 3” below. They are perfect for the boat. Handles like a dream and comes on plane quickly. I hate seeing so many newer boats taking forever and a day getting on plane!

I haven’t logged in for some time and miss OSO! I had the boat out for 4 short runs this year and was a blast just so busy with other things going on in my life and others.

Any interest let me know!!! The boat has been in storage with the exception of times stated above. I am moving soon and will no longer have the awesome shop and storage bldg I have had for decades.

Tks
John

Wildman_grafix 01-08-2025 08:21 AM

Do you have better pictures of what is rotted in the cabin? Is everything solid in the engine room?

Trailer steel or Aluminum?

I don’t but can get some. I removed the stringer and was going to replace which I still would as not a big deal! I’m just losing my building and moving otherwise I’d replace myself.

Original add was without power and exhaust but you've had it out 4 times this year. Are you selling it with or without power for $12,000?

Original add is correct. I’ll pull the engines right were the boat is stored in our shop. Takes all of 3 1/2 hours to pull them both! Engines are extremely low hour NA 565 CI Dart based and exhaust is Stelling headers dry to tip and can be purchased at a price.

bigboat28 01-11-2025 08:30 AM

What is the details on the engines?
