Dear IB, Please Stop Attacking My Computer

Once again this morning the site took over my computer. i was closing a window and another browser popped up automatically. It then began opening window after window, fibnally crashing my computer after opening 56 separate IE windows.

Are you using some sort of malicious cookies or tracking software? Are you selling my browsing information?

I'm not the only person that this has happened to.

get some virus and or spam protection maybe?...

I mean it's never happened to me and my computer is flipping old...but i have brand new safeware! Most likely not the site and more likely the fact you have bad protection and are also allowing pop-up's!

I don't know if it's from IB, but i started getting spam emails a few months ago. That NEVER used to happen. It makes me wonder if our email address list is being sold...:angry-smiley-038:

It's the only site that does it- ever. And it does it to me 3-4 times a week. I'm using the absolute latest version of Norton 360 and it works amazingly well everywhere else.

Glad I'm not the only one getting a WHOLE lot more spam emails than ever before

IB is not serving pop over or under advertising on OSO. Also we do not share or sell email addresses with any third party. We take every measure to ensure the security of all personally identifiable data of our members and will not share that data with any third party. The pop under/multiple windows issues as well as the spam you’re reporting should not be caused by this site. However we will escalate you concern with our technical team to see if we can identify the cause.

I have never had that happen to me here, but I do remember in the mid 90's it was very simple to make a Java bomb that would do that. try something other than norton and make sure all profiles are up to date, make sure you have the latest patches and check your ie security settings. it is your machine.

norton has not always worked for me, i had some buddies do me up right... all me tech buddies tell me norton is junk... if that mans anything to ya....

phragle 09-03-2008 11:35 PM

it,s also a resource hog.

You just made Sydways' $hit list.

Since IB took over I have won millions from overseas on a daily basis and I was a poor man before that so thanks IB.

I could buy some of these explanations if it had EVER happened on any other site or in any other circumstance. I've been using the product for years and it's been impervious so far. I get maybe 2-3 spams a month sneaking through and even on the crazy porn sites that in the past would commandeer your computer- never an issue.

As far as being a resource hog- it definitely used to be. The new version seems to have addressed that issue.

I wonder if they ever "escalated you concern?"

I don't know what you guys are talking about, I haven't seen an ad in years. Get Firefox with Adblock!

:D :D

I don't make money off of Norton AV. I deal with the Gov't classified info and such.

Internet Explorer 'effn blows.

Download Mozilla Firefox. Its the best damn browser available; so much so that IE8 copies most of its advanced features and benefits.

I'm old and set in my ways. I get pi$$ed when they change the Depends pack at the grocery store.
