Selling email addresses?
 

Does the managment of OSO sell our conctact information? I only ask because for the last couple months I have been receiving spam mail. (mostly from Teague and Eliminator) :confused:

OSO does not sell member email address to vender's or any other third party.

Other forums have gone the route of selling community members email addresses as a part of their business plan. We maintain very strict rules about how we treat personally identifiable information.

We may at some point produce a newsletter and offer companies the ability to advertise on it. In that case we will not give them access to any OSO member email addresses or other personally identifiable information.

I've never gotten any spam like that, but I have bought from Teague........which is when they started sending me emails.

I have never bought anything from either vendor thats what made me suspicous.

I've been getting the same emails from those two companies, however I figured they picked my email address from some site like SCOPE since they are some times sponsors of SCOPE, or maybe the havasu poker run......? Both those companies are sponsors of that too.

I've never been to the SCOPE site or done anything to connect it to Havasu...

Hmmmmmm......they got or bought a list from somewhere.....maybe the old Hotboat.com site or SceamAndFly.com, SeriousOffshore.com or Speedwake.com? Maybe another boat company or supplier that went out of business and gave/sold thier lsit? Tons of places. I believe the ad does have an opt-out on it though.....

Here is the latest from Teague on 4-13, and I've received 15 emails since Feb 14.

Teague or Eliminator would not bother me....its the ones about increasing the size of my penius that I get tired of.....
