pic posting problems

I AM a paying member, however I won't be much longer if I can't load pics, this has been pissing me off for a while. Ive tried from 2 different computers and my android. I've resized photos, saved them under different types of files, un-checked the "Enhanced Attachment Uploading" box in my general settings, everything. Sorry for hijacking the thread, this is just the 10th damn time I've tried

Does it give you an error message????

You never answered the question in this thread when I was trying to assist you http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/d...ification.html

Are you seeing the upload button???? Are you clicking it???

gmgearhead454 03-06-2015 06:56 AM

I'm sorry for never getting back to you Griff, I decided to try other file types before my response that night then ended up being driven up the wall by the damn kids, Lol. Yes I do see the upload button and click it, then it does nothing for 2-3 minutes then gives me the "error" message. And thats on the pc, it won't even let me get that far on my android.

Griff 03-06-2015 12:45 PM

Try it again and try uploading a single pic.

Are you uploading directly from the computer or from a cloud???

Post the exact error message that you are getting.

Hey thanks for moving this here, I just tried it again, I clicked on the little picture icon in the reply box, clicked "from computer", clicked "browse", clicked on "pictures", opened up my file of boat pics, clicked on the photo I wanted, and it put the address I guess it is in the OSO box, then I clicked "upload files", and it blinked like it acknowledged that it was clicked, and didn't do anything after that. It was throwing an error message that just said "An error has occurred and your photo was not able to load", but now it aint doin ****, literally the little "insert image" box just stays on the screen and nothing happens.

Ok it just threw up the error code. It is: 20140628_123958.jpg:

I've never done it that way using the icon till you just mentioned it, but it worked fine that way for me

Try using the "Go Advanced" box and then Manage Attachments Box.
It will pull up a bunch of blank file boxes with BROWSE next to it.
Browse your pics on your computer and double click the pic and it should fill in the file box. Then hit the UPLOAD box and see if it works.
The UPLOAD box is way on the right and hidden unless you scroll over or maximize the window.
This is assuming the Enhance Attachment Uploader is OFF.

20140628_123958.jpg that is the error code when I try to upload from my PC

Griff 03-08-2015 01:34 PM

email me the pic you are trying to upload. The error code you posted looks to just be the actual file name.

Cool man I appreciate it. I messaged the webmaster guy about the issue a few days ago but haven't got a response yet. If you go to the LOTO shootout/poker run we'll Definately have to meet up so I can buy you some beer for helping me with all this crap! Lol

The files are much too large. They are over 2.0MB each and can only be 975kb or so. You need some type of image resizer.

When I resized it, it uploaded fine..

I use this one now with windows 7. Free download that takes 30 seconds https://imageresizer.codeplex.com/releases/view/82827
All you have to do is right click on a pic and choose the resize option.

Griff 03-10-2015 12:43 AM

I'll email you the resized pic back. Save it and see if it uploads.

You need to have a paid OSO membership to upload pics from your PC directly onto OSO.
Without a paid membership you can post pics by hosting them on photo sharing website and linking them.

Newest version download of Pic re sizer http://www.bricelam.net/ImageResizer/

VoodooRob 07-04-2017 07:07 AM

When trying to post pics, I click on the image icon in the tool bar and all I get is a way to add a url. Before I could click upload a photo and load from my phone or laptop. Is that option gone now?

I never uploaded pics directly from my phone before, but there used to be a different type icon in the task bar to add an attachment and its no longer there.
It looks like you'll have have click on the "go advanced" and then add them through the "manage attachments" now.

Uploaded via iPhone as attachment (no link).

You'll need to use the GO TO FULL SITE option on mobile. Use the GO ADVANCED posting option. Then MANAGE ATTACHMENTS. Then choose your photo(s) and UPLOAD them. Then close the attachments window. Then make your post.
