What is wrong with the site.

What is wrong.
This site is dam slow. I have to wait for pages to load, I have to hit keys two or three times to get an action. I don't have this problem on any other sites. AND I am a paying member.
What is up guys.

sutphen 30 02-20-2016 10:51 AM

you have a problem on your end.clear cookies and cache.run a good antivirus and see whats up..try hitman pro and se what it finds,,30 day free trial.

Tinkerer 02-20-2016 11:07 AM

I have HitmanPro, Malware bites and Spyhunter,
Found nothing.
Why is it only this site.

BUP 02-20-2016 11:14 AM

I have the same problem with this site ONLY to. Its been a on going thing for about 3 year now for me. I have to go back and retype alot of my posts because of problems. I have said a couple years ago, I think this site has some sort of virus that attaches itself to my computer. I have Webroot and one other virus protection, It does nothing to avoid problems with this site. I am fine elsewhere but here.

class6 02-20-2016 11:23 AM

Same here!

Tinkerer 02-20-2016 11:24 AM

I just cleared cookies and history and it made NO change. Everything is very slow to load as if I was on dial up. This has been going on for about 6 months. I have windows 10 upgrade but if I remember I had the problem before the upgrade.
I just did an extensive sweep using all three programs yesterday. Other than the usual garbage they didn't find anything classified as bad.

f_inscreenname 02-20-2016 11:41 AM

My garage lap top has the same issue. To many ads and such that eat up a lot of your memory. Its like opening up 3 or 4 youtube videos at the same time. When my desktop, hard wired to Fios takes like 5 seconds to open a OSO page you know there is a lot extra stuff coming up with it.

Tinkerer 02-20-2016 11:50 AM

I am running a I7 processor. The other sites have ads and pop ups also. Blazing fast. NOT HERE
What should I look for.
Maybe someone could give us a step by step procedure to cure the problem IF it is our computers that have the problem.

Griff 02-20-2016 12:16 PM

What browser are you running????

I have no issues using Chrome, but IE is often slow and lags.

GRH 02-20-2016 12:25 PM

IE seems to be the problem... switch to Chrome & see if it helps

Chrome is data farming at its finest, Firefox and never look back.

Tinkerer 02-20-2016 12:48 PM

I am using IE and have since I bought my first computer. I don't want or intend to change. I like IE. SO HOW do we fix this. This just started a few months ago. SO something has changed. And I tried my work laptop that only accesses the internet to update the OS. One year old ASUS with an I7 chip and it does the same thing. It has never logged onto any site that might be suspect.

F-2 Speedy 02-20-2016 12:50 PM

I chatted with Griff about this same issue a couple weeks ago............ Why doesn't someone FIX it or tell us what the issues are instead of just telling us to change browsers, Chrome is not the FIX all........ its gotten worse and worse

Let me put it this way, its like you are towing with a 1500 half ton at a max capacity, it gets the job done but not very well. If you towed with a 2500 diesel it would do a whole lot better at the task at hand.

Firefox is free, and as far as I am concerned IE is broken right out of the gate. It will import all you bookmarked sights as well.

SB 02-20-2016 02:10 PM

It seems for every performance boat that gets replaced with a center console, the sight slows down.

Tinkerer 02-20-2016 02:10 PM

Funny you should say - I have a 2500 Diesel.

The question is why now - what has changed?

This is the only site that it is doing it on.

AND - WHY do I have to hit a button like " new posts " three times to get it to work?

And this is the only site that I pay for to get features that are not available with the FREE version.

speicher lane 02-20-2016 02:23 PM

IE is rediculously slow. Like it's already been said/reccomended, I too run Fox and blaze though all the sites with no issues.

What causes the issue with IE.. who knows??? you can run fine one day, get an update and then you are S.O.L until the update issue just created gets fixed with a new release... welcome to comuters!

At works I have to run multiple SE's just to work along with various vendor's comatibility demands.

Tinkerer 02-20-2016 02:54 PM

SO - IE that is supposed to be so slow IS only slow on this site. Everywhere else it is fast.
What has changed to make this site so slow???

class6 02-20-2016 03:25 PM

I just downloaded and tried Google Chrome. It is slower. Tried a few times on and off to build a cache. Doesn't help.

Rattlesnake Jake 02-20-2016 04:17 PM

I'm using IE with no problems. I5 processor Windows 7 professional.

F-2 Speedy 02-20-2016 08:10 PM

Is this what paying members get, a website that we cant navigate ?? This site is so loaded up with advertising and BS its dragging it down........they probably don't know how to fix it,............add bandwidth or reduce the crap running in the backround

Griff 02-20-2016 09:30 PM

FYI, I flagged this thread for the IB Tech dept.

phragle 02-20-2016 09:57 PM

Im running chrome and have no speed issues, other sights like weather.com really slow up my laptop too, but not oso. As for IE, it is sooo wonderful that even microsoft is abandoning it

I still use it with no problems. Go by the old Adage " If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Tinkerer 02-21-2016 09:52 AM

I was using Microsoft EDGE that came with Windows 10. I just downloaded Firefox and it isn't any faster than what IE used to be here and still are on the other sites. No one has answered "What has changed to cause this problem."

Would that include the entire Ginger Lynn, Blondie and Seka collection??

Hmmm? You got me, mine is fast on my windows 10 laptop. I really hope you do enjoy firefox. I have the latest and greatest IE on my work PC and cant stand it.

Tinkerer 02-21-2016 11:40 AM

OK - so how do I pin MSN as the home page when I open Firefox?

Tinkerer 02-21-2016 11:43 AM

Found it and got it.

Tinkerer 02-21-2016 09:11 PM

I had the cookies blocked on EDGE. How do I block cookies on Firefox?

thirdchildhood 02-22-2016 06:55 AM

I'm a non paying member and it's lightning fast with Chrome.

Tinkerer 02-22-2016 06:44 PM

the whole point is that I didn't want to change browsers. I now have to use an unfamiliar format to search the internet.
How do I block cookies with Firefox??

Griff 02-23-2016 01:39 AM

You don't have to completely switch browsers on everything.
I still use IE for a lot of stuff, but for OSO and other forums, I use Chrome.
