And now this from the local paper....
A recent letter to the editor - probably written following the Fun Run.
Get a life "Wilma"! Lawn mowers are louder than 80 decibals.
Mines awful quiet this week.........
Her name is Wilma ??? Figures
I didnt know that there were alot of "Cigarette" boats on old hickory. Lots of other brands though:lolhit:
Unfortunately these "Wilmas" have city councilmen, who know the mayor, who calls TWRA.........you get the picture.
I love the sound of a well tuned big block, but there are a lot of people who don't. With all the lakeside homes and subdivisions on OH, we could be looking at an eventual noise crackdown. I'm somewhat surprised we've gotten away with it as long as we have.......... Regards, Steve |
FYI, nosey me had to look up where ole' Wilma lives....she lives right across the channel from Shutes Branch/Harbor Island. Funny.......
Sounds like we need a late nite drive by.......

Regards, Steve The biggest fear folks on the council have is a serious accident or a rash of BUIs associated with the fast boats. The media would latch on to that which would really put the public pressure on local councils to "do something". If it came down to it, I would rather deal with mufflers any day than be faced with an overzealous TWRA or arbitrary speed limits as as happened in other areas. RP |
