2000 Ford F-550 Value
Looking at a 2000 Ford F-550 with:
7.3 Powerstroke
4.88 rear end (?)
4X4
Western Hauler bed
XLT (leather et. al)
4 new tires
120,000 miles
New transmission (October 2004)
70 gallon tank
Totally loaded and is said to be in perfect condition with all service records.
Used to haul horses.
I went on Kelly Blue Book, but it is hard to add in a lot of the features to the price. Any thoughts on this truck... yes, I did a search and have all old comments posted.
Any idea as to what this is worth?
Thanks!

Don't know anything about it other than a friend said he had one a couple years ago and those gears were great for low end, but highway driving was a nightmare. WOT was in the 60's. He sold it after a few months.

Re: 2000 Ford F-550 Value
The owner damaged the transmission while towing ~20,000 pounds up a gravel road with a very steep angle. She stated that the grade was so severe for about two miles that the tranny finally let go.
This is her story.
Any idea on value of the truck?????

A 4:88 will be banging the red line at 70mph....Not good for fuel mileage......just another "clowns" opinion
And yes....I learned this in a wrecker.....

I would advise getting a Diablo programmer and tweaking a little more power out of it. I've done it to mine without incident. The truck will go well into the 90's (mph) if the need would ever arise, not sure why it would. The only concern I would have is why it needed a transmission so early. The least I've ever gotten from one was 165,000 miles.

boomer880 let me check with my friends here, he has a use truck lot 3/4 tons and up, he will have a good wholesale value and retail for you, also is it an auto or manual and is it a western hauler conversion or just that type of bed on it, most conversions have all the woodgrain and a tag by them on it if no outside logo.
