1999 chevy 5.3 power?
 

I drove a 2002 chevy half ton with a 5.3 and it pulled my boat like it was nothing. When I got back I found a nice 1999 with the 5.3 and it seems to not have near the power. I changed plugs, wires and fuel filter and no change. Did they make a horsepower increase after 1999? Can you change a chip in computer?

the first ones were like 260-270 Hp and the new ones are 295.... i don't know if you can upgrade them or not...

I came up to loto last week end with that 2002 and the first day back I bought this 99 and it is the diifernece of nite and day.

I have a power dyne supercharger kit for a 99-02 5.3 truck for sale,was 4300$ new,800$ like new, hardly used.It came off a suv that rolled over after85oo miles so it's like new. Needs a couple pieces to complete the kit that are missing but the key stuff is there,35-60% power increase over stock on pump gas,Smitty

what are the pieces it is missing? What do you change on computer?

The main thing thats not there is the power programmer for the computer,it has a program that pulls timing out of it under boost. The actual supercharger,discharge piping,adapter to front of throttle body,a aftermarket maf (that i don't even think is needed) and the head bracket are all there. Nickel dime things that would cost a few hundred(belt,aftermarket fuel regulator,inline booster fuel pump etc )are also mising but they are 30-80$ parts that you can find anywhere and pick premium pieces while your at it).
